I too have heard about their split and recently a lot of TV serials have their solo music instead of duo.

I don't know whats driving that split or its just a rumour but its a great loss to the Indian community worldwide. I would personally like to hear them for few more decades.

I disagree with the criticism of JL. I think they are great music directors who have given very nice and memorable music. They don't need to lift tunes like HR does in order to gain popularity.
As for not offering contestants a chance to sing in films...I think there is nothing wrong with that at all. They are parting ways and must have a lot of personal issues to deal with. Why air your dirty laundry in public? It's none of our business. Besides, J said he would keep Sharib in Bombay even if he had to sell his house. To me, that speaks volumes more than saying, "Oh here's another song for you" like HR does to Vinit.

Its always seen of JL driven by emotions and making some hyper statements like:

"Agar Pancham da ka program koi band karega to mein apne haath kaat loonga"
"Agar meri badi bitiya hoti to Paresh se uski shaadi kar deta"
"Agar Sharib ke liye ghar bhi bechana pade to...."

All others have made and proved their promises parellely. Could JL have actually done what they mentioned in the show in fenzy ? When they themselves are struggling with their form and partnership, I really doubt what they can actually do...???

Like many I'm also a fan of Jatin Lalit. I've earlier also said what I'm saying, but I'll repeat for your benefit.
There is no music director who hasn't seen rough patch in career, Pancham was almost bankrupt in 80s and was unable to pay his instrumentalists, he had only few hits like Sagar(1984), otherwise films like Jhuta kahi ka, Red Rose did no good to him, still he came back in a smashing way in 1987 with Izzazat,
lambi race ka ghoda kabhi kabhi thak jata hai par bahut door tak jata hai, JL, if they stood together in this test of time they are unputdownable.
