Part 12
"Job well done" Milind had congratulated her as she lay on the bed feigning sickness. "Poor Baba was so taken aback Milind I don't like doing this to him" she had said sadly. "Hun this is nothing compared to the shock he's gonna get when the truth comes out" he had informed her gravely. "But you don't worry babes I'll explain it to him" he had kissed her on the forehead cradling her in his arms. "Milind what if I were really pregnant?' Prachi had asked.... "Really?" Milind had looked at her in shock "When did we make out?" he had laughed jovially as Prachi punched him lightly. "Nah, I mean when I am really pregnant with our child how'd you feel?' she had inquired again fixing her soulful eyes on him. "I'd be the happiest man to walk the planet hun" he had told her softly kissing her lips tantalizing her with sweet temptation. "That's my dream Prachi my own family with you someone to call me daddy" he had confessed. "I'll make you a proud daddy I promise" Prachi had smiled kissing him tenderly on his cheek before he pressed his lips to hers. The tests had been conducted the results in Prachi ofcourse was not pregnant but was perfectly fit, the doctor had informed Baba she had been suffering from stress due to her exams. All was fine but Mallika was unaware of it all for her Milind had other plans. He had paid the doctor to recite a few lines to him as soon as he saw Mallika enter the room.
"Congratulations Mr Mishra you'r going to be a daddy soon" he had shaken Milind's hand warmly before leaving. Mallika stood shocked in the doorway as Milind had bent down to plant a passionate kiss on Prachi's forehead. "Thanks darling you've made me very happy" he had winked at Prachi naughtily who had smiled radiantly at him. "I can't believe you'r pregnant with his child" she had stared at Prachi in wonder who stood hugging Milind. "What the hell are you going to tell his father Mr Traditions lecturing on culture and values where did all that go?" she still was amazed that Milind had the nerve to have a baby with the nurse. "Well having the baby is better than miscarrying one and aborting three" Milind had jeered at her it wasn't that he wasn't aware of her activities. "I still have a long way to go to catch up with you medusa" he had grinned impishly taunting her. Enough was enough Mallika was not going to sit put watch her husband raise illegitimate children in her presence. "I want a divorce you stupid oaf and I'm gonna tell daddy what you'r upto you idiot" she yelled slamming the door shut leaving Prachi to fall in Milind's arms laughing hard. "I can't believe she's so stupid" she had exclaimed as she managed to control her giggles. "I just want to see her face once she knows you'r not pregnant" Milind had chuckled.
The party was a grand affair everyone was assembled in the spacious lawns while Mr Raichand stood rubbing his temples. Mallika had informed him of Milind's infidelity and now demanded that Raichand allow her to get a divorce from him. "He's not that type Malli" Raichand had tried explaining to her. "Yeah right you'r not the one getting slapped by his bloody girlfriend and being insulted. Do you know she's pregnant with his child" she had screamed in agitation. Her father had looked at her as if she'd gone mad he trusted Milind and knew he would never cross boundries. He also had a fair idea of his daughter's married life he marvelled at the patience with which Milind put up with her. "If he does indeed have a fling I'm not going to hold him responsible" he had told her firmly. "But before that I'd like to confirm your accusations whether they stand true or not." He had then called Milind to his study along with Baba. "I'm sorry Mr Mishra to have bothered you like this but there seems to be a problem between your son and my daughter.... though that's not new." Baba had taken a seat sighing he knew where this was headed to.
Milind had stepped forward then "So Milind Mallika claims you'r sleeping with a nurse you got appointed for your father's care... is it true?" Raichand had questioned a mute Milind. "No it's not true Dad you know I wouldn't cross limits. If I couldn't touch my wife in two years I can't lose control for a woman who's not mine" he had replied truthfully. "You liar, you cheat lying to my daddy like that what the hell were you up to when Baba had gone to attend his friend's funeral" Mallika had accused him shocked at his fibs. "I was tutoring her she had her exams and well I knew a bit or two about the subject so I helped her out" he had answered coolly knowing full well how hard it was for Mallika to accept this as the truth. He hadn't left her any other choice but to believe him. "If you don't believe me you can ask Prachi" he had told his father. "I don't need to I trust you son, I didn't raise you to turn into a casanova" Baba had patted Milind's hand affectionately. "Daddy that's rubbish I can't stay with this man anymore I don't love him and what if he's lying get that nurse checked for a pregnancy test. Dad she is pregnant the doctor told Milind." Just then Dr Marwa had been ushered in by the servant "Why'd you ask me to get the reports here Milind?" he had asked handing him the reports. "So that I could prove my innocence" he had taken out the papers handing them to Raichand who read with interest throwing them away with distaste. "Daddy does it say Prachi is pregnant?" Mallika had jumped to his side when Mr Raichand had slapped her hard on her cheek making her stare at him astounded. "Daddy how could you?" she had asked hurt to the core. "I wish I had done that earlier atleast I wouldn't have got to know you'r carrying a child that isn't your husband's. I can't believe he's been putting up with you for so long. These reports tell me you'r pregnant and the child's DNA does not match with Milind's."
Mallika stared at Milind horror stricken how in the world did he know "How'd you get your hands on this you filthy scum you've been going through my personal belongings. How dare you run a DNA check on my unborn child..." she had spewed venom at Milind who merely smirked at her. His deed had been done the two men who had to be enlightened on the truth were now full aware of her antics. Milind had been clever enough to ask Mallika's gynaecologist to run a DNA test on her fetus he was smarter than Mallika had thought. "That means it's true isn't it since I never laid a finger on you..... how did you become pregnant then darling wife? And since you'r not very keen on motherhood I doubt you got yourself inseminated either. Even if you did who's the father? cuz it's certainly not mine" he had asked her bitingly. "None of your damned business" she had snapped back. "Then you have no right to interfere in my affairs either. As for Prachi I love her because she's a far better woman than you. Yes I asked her to help me make you believe that I was having an affair with her. I had Dr Marwa run a pregnancy test on her too as you claim she's bearing my child." He had informed her dropping another bombshell on the group assembled there.
"Dr Marwa could you care to read out the results" he had asked the good doctor who had immediately produced another set of reports. "She's very much a virgin Mrs Mishra and no definitely not pregnant " he had smiled at a crushed Mallika. "Sign the divorce papers Mallika I'm sick and tired of you" Milind had ordered her handing her the papers which she had signed meekly there was nothing left to fight for. "I'm sorry Mr Raichand all of this had to come out in such a way but I was left with no other choice I'm entitled to happiness as much as she is" he had said to Raichand before hugging him. "I don't care about her you'r still gonna remain my son is that clear." The old man had embraced Milind warmly sad at his daughter's wrong deeds that had led to such a disaster. "I'm sorry I tied you with her in the first place" he had apologized. "It's ok Dad maybe it was destined this way" he had smiled at him elated at his freedom.
