Part 1
He sat brooding in a remote corner of the restaurant it was late afternoon the sun filtered in through the large screens separating the interior of the hotel from the side walk. He ran a disgusted look around him what the hell was he doing here, he had an important meeting in an hour files had to be gone through numbers to be checked yet here he sat waiting for that bitch. A few young women had cast stray glances at the hot and handsome man sitting nonchalantly in the secluded area. Sipping on a chilled martini he played around with the olives his burnished fingers lining the rim of the glass absent mindedly. The beige business suit he adorned spoke volumes of his elite class. His tinted champagne shades hid his brooding eyes from the world as he scoured the road through the screens. Where was she... he glanced at his swiss watch impatiently he'd been waiting over an hour yet there were no signs of her he ran a careless hand through his cropped curls that covered his forehead. At a glance any woman might've been compelled to turn around and size him up properly yes Milind Mishra was that sort he was a sexual magnet. Women were attracted to him in droves his associates never really could pin point out what exactly fuelled his sexy hunk image since he never took the pains to look elaborate maybe it was the negligence that added to his charm. He was a dream come true over six feet with a sculpted and well toned body he caught the eye right away his rugged features accentuated by his trimmed stubble framing his perfect cupid lips. His charcoal eyes had the ability to drive any woman insane once they focused on her but that was something he hardly did, rather he didn't wish to. He hated woman the reason being his wife Mallika. The spoilt arrogant daughter of a rich industrialist she had made the word marraige make him sick at the very mention of it he loathed her yet he had to put up with her for various reasons. Right now he awaited her his detective had tipped him on her coming here at that particular time and so he lay in wait.
"Prachi what have you thought about the fees then?" Shubha had gently touched her friend's face. Prachi sat numb too tired to think she had been crying since her mother had called that morning. Prachi was studying at National college here in Bombay ever since her father had been paralysed she had been forced to leave Simla for a job in a bigger city. Inder Shah had been an accountant in a firm in Simla life was good then Prachi had been studying in Simla. She was an only child her family was her life but a year back disaster had struck when Inder had suffered from a major brain haemmorage. Their limited funds had been exhausted and Prachi had been forced to shift to Mumbai residing with a friend. She had found a job at a hospital as a nurse and attended evening classes she had to graduate this year at all costs. But it seemed the prospect was rather a whim on her part her mother had called her asking for some money she was caught in a dilemma. The last date for submitting the exam fees was that Saturday and if she didn't get it done by then she'd fail to appear for her exams and that meant a whole year gone to waste. She could not afford that but neither could she let her mother down her father was being treated to physiotherapy and there had been a marked improvement. Still complete recovery was a far cry and to achieve that she had to pay for his medical bills. She could bear everything but not see her family tear up because of her own needs she'd have to put the money for the fees together some other way. Maybe she could work extra shifts at the hospital her mind was still a haze but her heart knew what needed to be done. "I'll manage the money Shubha right now Dad needs it more than me besides he was always there to provide for me when i needed him why should I not do the same." Prachi had admitted to her friend who sat pitying her best friend. Shubha wasn't that well off either being an orphan had made her realize life wasn't a bed of roses she made enough to feed herself and get a roof over her head each month. Dishing out an extra thousand was simply out of the question. Right now they awaited another friend of their's Shabeena she had promised to help Prachi but even though they had been waiting for long Shabeena hadn't shown up.
Mallika had entered the restaurant in style all heads had turned to watch her she wore a skimpy knee length black sleevless dress. Her amber skin glowed after being pampered at the salon for three hours her perfectly pedicured feet peeped from within her strappy heels. Brushing away her shoulder length black hair she had scanned the premises for a seat she spotted one and clicked her feet in that direction. Anyone looking at her would instantly know she took life for granted. Her I could care less attitude had won the wrath of many not that it mattered to her. She was Mrs Mallika Mishra and that was enough for people to know who she was in her opinion even before being a Mrs she was perfectly happy being Ms Raichand. To her life was a game she played each day she loved thrills and that was exactly what lacked in her marraige. True she was married to the most sizzling hot business tycoon in town but their bedroom activities were a different story altogether. Marraige was a burden and Milind no more than an acquaintance. How they ended up together was a mystery the business circle had often tried to solve....... all that was known was that it was a hurried one and Mr Raichand couldn't have found a better son in law for his atrociously boisterous pampered devil of a daughter. Milind had watched her slip out a cigarette from her Gucci bag lighting it with her lighter she puffed on it in style. Now he'd wait for the kill he'd heard rumors but hadn't heeded to them but if today he did find them to stand true he'd be forced to take action soon.
