Tanya and Mandira can’t be equated despite being the third angles themselves because Tanya didn’t fool Karan into sleeping with her and then had a son with him to trap him against his will in the relationship he didn’t want, at least so far. For all we know they will make Tanya as Karan’s first wife in this season whom he married so that Nandini would marry Ansh.

May be Tanya and Ansh ne haath milaye honge to get karan and nandini respectively as we know Tanya and Ansh were friends. And they both married karan and nandini respectively.this is my opinion

We also don’t know about Mandira beyond that Mihir was with her once. But they keep bringing her to show Mihir as bad even if the talk is about Karan. And they didn’t do it once, but they have done this multiple times from Gautam, Karan, Nandini to Tulsi

So that comment wasn’t brought to equate Mandira with Niyati due to having same mental issues.
