As far as I know it had been another critic (KRK) who 'coined' this term on his twitter account years ago for those hyping Hindi movies (also Hindi versions of other languages) either in a positive way or a negative - whatever their sponsors want.

KRK is one of them, too, btw., albeit a bit different regarding his motives.

I think, the term "samosa" comes from the samosas offered at press screenings/conferences...

Unfortunately (imo), here in the forum, known 'samosa' critics/analysts get posted over & over again in spite of their known paid bias.
