I’m honestly really confused after watching that recent interview. When Ekta was asked about her favorite between Tulsi and Parvati, she said that back then she preferred Parvati because Tulsi was too loud. But now she says she would choose Tulsi because she’s more composed.

That just doesn’t make sense to me. Tulsi wasn’t “too loud” before she was strong, outspoken, and unafraid to say what needed to be said. That’s what made her such a powerful character. Now she just feels toned down, almost like a completely different person.

This current version of Tulsi seems overly soft and a bit unrealistic, almost like a PG rated version of herself similar to Anupamaa’s style. But what’s wrong with a woman being vocal and standing her ground? Back in the 2000s, Tulsi had so much more presence, stronger dialogues, and a real aura.

Now it feels like that boldness is gone, and she’s been made quieter for no real reason. Honestly, she was much better before.

Did Tulsi even let go Mandira and Meera when they were lusting over Mihir

Tulsi 2.0 did not even give a slap to her and there are many times she deserved why such light treatment

With you on this. No doubt, our favourite was Parvati too but not because Tulsi was loud but because Parvati played the entire Janki Revenge plot really well and strongly.

But Tulsi in S2 definitely looks very off. An improved version of Anupama tbh

Omg, that was my exact reaction when I saw that interview too. Tulsi from S1 wasn’t “too loud” at all. She was confident, strong, and completely sure of herself, even before the leap. She never took nonsense from anyone be it Savita, Mihir, Mohini or anyone else, and that’s what made her so powerful.

And honestly, this softer version just doesn’t make sense. The old Tulsi would never have let some of the stuff Pari, Noina, Mitali and Suchitra did slide. Tulsi 2.0 barely reacted before 6 year leap, even in situations where she absolutely should’ve stood her ground. She just seemed hurt, didn’t really question Mihir, and often ended up crying instead. It really feels like they’ve toned her down way too much, and that takes away from what made her iconic in the first place.

Exactly my point

Earlier I liked Tulsi and Parvati both equally because I saw them as different roops of women. To talk in mythological terms- If Parvati was mostly maa Gauri, then Tulsi was mostly Maa Kali or rather maa shakti - of course their personalities sometimes interchanged depending on the plots.

Tulsi of season 1 was the one I signed up for when I started watching this season! This toned down version of Tulsi makes no sense at all!!

I loved both Tulsi and Parvati equally, and I still do. Both very strong in different levels and the actresses have done a phenomenal job on the characters that they played and true icons of Tellywood!
