Actor Tushar Dhembla is currently playing Nikhil in Heer Sharma Gayi, a new web show by Ishika Shahi. Produced by Rajan Shahi’s Director's Kut Production, the show is set to stream on their official YouTube channel from April 10 onwards. Having worked across television and other entertainment platforms, the actor believes that digital platforms offer more scope for artists to explore their characters in depth.
Talking about his experience of working on this project compared to television and other mediums, Tushar shared that the process felt very different. He said, "It was definitely more intimate and raw. On digital, you get more time to explore your character, and the storytelling is more detailed. Compared to television, it feels less rushed and more performance-driven, which I really enjoyed." His words reflect how digital content allows actors to focus more on performance and character building without the pressure of tight schedules.
A Role That Demanded Emotional Depth
However, playing the character was not easy for him. Tushar revealed that the role was emotionally challenging and required a deep understanding of the character. He shared, "Some scenes required me to really dig deep and be very honest. I prepared by understanding the character’s mindset and backstory and by keeping things natural rather than overthinking it." This approach helped him stay true to the role and deliver a performance that feels real and relatable.
Apart from the emotional challenges, Tushar also spoke about the bond he shared with his co-stars. He mentioned that their off-screen connection played an important role in shaping their on-screen chemistry. He said, "We didn’t feel like just co-actors; we genuinely became friends. That comfort off-screen really helped our on-screen chemistry, which I think the audience will notice." This sense of comfort and friendship eased their performances and helped bring authenticity to the story.
There is also a dance sequence in the show that Tushar enjoyed performing, despite its difficulty. He spoke about the effort that went into making it look smooth on screen. He said, "It looked smooth on screen, but it was actually quite challenging to perform, especially lifting Heer on my shoulders. A lot of effort went into it, and I gave it everything. I’m really happy with how it’s turned out. Now I’m just waiting for the audience reaction." The sequence reflects both his dedication and his willingness to push his limits for the role.
A Comfortable and Creative Working Environment
Sharing his experience working with the production house and Ishika Shahi, Tushar described it as a familiar, comfortable space. He said it felt like coming home. According to him, the team fosters trust, respect, and creative freedom, making the entire process smooth and enjoyable.
He said, "There’s a lot of trust, respect, and creative freedom. Ishika is very clear with her vision but also very collaborative, which makes the whole process smooth and enjoyable. That’s what makes this team truly special," Tushar ended.
With its detailed storytelling and strong performances, Heer Sharma Gayi is set to connect with audiences while giving actors like Tushar Dhembla the space to explore their craft in a deeper, more meaningful way.
