While the nation continues mourning the loss of Asha Bhosle, an intimate tribute penned by her granddaughter has emerged, bringing profound emotional depth to the farewell.

The legendary singer died on April 12 in Mumbai at the age of 92. She had been sick for some time. She went to Breach Candy Hospital because of a chest infection and extreme tiredness. Later, her health got worse due to multiple organs failing, and she passed away.

Her funeral was held on April 13 at Shivaji Park crematorium in Mumbai. She was given full state honours. Many family members, close friends, and people from the film and music industry came to say their last goodbye.

Zanai Bhosle’s emotional message

Zanai Bhosle took to Instagram stories to share an emotional message, "So overwhelmed with emotions, I'll write something when I can, but I have to say that there were so many people who have respected her and honoured her today and beyond it all shown her so much love," she wrote.

She added, "I thank you from the bottom of my heart. She deserved every bit of it. I realise that she lives on in every one of us in our hearts forever and she has seen it all from above."

Zanai’s close bond with Asha Bhosle

Zanai was very close to her grandmother. She was seen crying during the last time she saw her. In the days before Asha Bhosle passed away, Zanai was also the first person in the family to tell everyone about her grandmother's health. At the time, she had requested privacy, writing on X: "My grandmother, Asha Bhosle due to extreme exhaustion and suffering a chest infection has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively."

At first, reports said the singer was getting better with treatment. But later, her health got worse and she passed away. Her son Anand Bhosle told everyone about her death. He also shared details about the funeral and asked people to come and pay their last respects.

Nation mourn Asha Bhosle’s death

People all over India and in other countries felt sad about her death. Many leaders, film stars, and fans shared messages to remember her. Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his condolences. Actors Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, veteran actor Hema Malini, and cricketers Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar also shared their sadness. Many other people did the same.

At the funeral, several famous people came to say goodbye. Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, and Aamir Khan were there to pay their last respects.

Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday morning due to multi-organ failure at the age of 92 at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai. She had been hospitalised for a chest infection and extreme exhaustion. She is survived by her son, Anand Bhosle, and granddaughter, Zanai. Condolences poured in for the family, with many expressing shock over her passing.
