‘Every decade, they have a new story’: Tina Ahuja on rumours surrounding Govinda and Sunita Ahuja's marriage

Tina Ahuja, daughter of actor Govinda and Sunita Ahuja, has spoken about the constant rumours surrounding her parents' marriage and how such speculation affects her personally. While she acknowledged that gossip is common in the entertainment industry, she admitted that repeated reports continue to be unsettling.

In a conversation with The Free Press Journal, Tina reflected on growing up amid public scrutiny. She said, “I’ve been seeing this since my childhood. There were stories. Every decade, they have a new story. Earlier, it used to be magazines. Then it came to the internet, and now it’s come to Instagram and the YouTube world. See, I’m human. Obviously, you get kind of troubled when there’s no truth to it and when it just feels very exaggerated and dragged."

Tina explained that social media often amplifies stories that may not have any basis in reality. According to her, misleading headlines and clickbait content can create unnecessary speculation and draw attention away from facts.

Sharing how she deals with such situations, she added, “Clickbait is taken from somewhere, and another story is created. I’m not some saint who will never get affected. It is disturbing, yes. But then you have to learn to have a thicker skin in this industry, or any industry in life. When you know the truth and when you know the foundation, then it’s better not to react or let it affect you or your health."

The discussion around Govinda and Sunita's marriage has resurfaced multiple times over the years. Earlier, Sunita had sparked conversations during an interview when she hinted at an alleged affair and expressed her dislike for the name "Komal". Her remarks led to widespread speculation online.

Govinda later addressed the matter and dismissed the rumours. Speaking to ANI, he said, "Not a single one of my heroines could say that I ever harassed them or spoke ill of anyone...The name she (his wife) is mentioning, Komal, I am grateful to her; I am ‘saved’ today because she hasn’t said a single word and is staying quiet."

More recently, Sunita appeared on Laughter Chefs 3, where her comments about loyalty in relationships once again drew attention, keeping discussions around the couple in the public spotlight.
