But here in this context... Even though both Shivansh and Prarthana have endured trauma but the nature of their trauma have been sooo different...and so was their response..

Tanya may be Bua Maa’s daughter, but Shivansh was never truly her brother...i mean in terms of emotional connection..He was raised alongside her, not with her.

In his mind, Tanya represents a life that had a mother’s love, stability, and emotional grounding — things Shivansh never felt deserving of.So he distanced himself, not out of dislike, but because he felt like an outsider in his own home.

“She belonged here. I was just… surviving here"

Shivansh’s default mode is distance. He can love someone (like Bua Maa) and still keep his emotions locked away.Tanya might have tried to reach him, even casually — but he shuts down.She may represent “family” — and family, to him, is where pain originates.So he keeps it polite. Distant. Guarded...

Lastly

Sometimes, it's hardest to bond with the people who live closest to your pain but never truly see it. Tanya might love him like a cousin, maybe even a brother, or he might love her as a cousin in his own way..whatever love he was capable of but she never lived his battles.So while he sees him as family, he also sees her as a mirror to the life he was never allowed to live fully...

Exactly my thoughts too. I wish there were scenes between them to show their binding/distance and form a subplot from there. By talking through her thoughts with Shivansh, she can be a sound counselor about everything happening around him. I also wish Prats saw their broken bond and tried to repair that, too so we see some progress between the cousins.

To be honest, this is why I hate BM too. She weaponised motherhood by feeding the notion of revenge in Shivansh's mind. Though the reason may be valid (yet to be shown), to use a child to extract her revenge is such a low bar to stoop to. I feel somewhere Tanya was also a victim of this, to Shivansh, maybe it seems like Tanya is living the life he has always wanted.... but that is not the objective truth. I have always noticed BM to hold Shivansh as a more prized son, a trophy, something worth her time and attention. Tanya isme kahin nahi aati.... we have never seen BM worried about Tanya the way she was about Shivansh.

Both have had different kind of shortages about things going up, bas ek doosre ke sahi halat dekh nahi payi, bacche the na?

And Shivansh would say..."I never meant to push you away. I just didn’t know how to belong in a family that never felt like mine'

They can talk about BM who were a bride between them and also probably were their biggest complication...

Tanya might admit:

“Sometimes I hated how much of her heart she gave you… but only because I was scared I was losing my place.”

Shivansh might reply:

And then it hits them..... that all of their worries and thoughts were meaningless in the end. Only feelings remain, and their unbreakable bond.

They both smile in unison, from their soul.... with a heart that feels light as a feather, void of the burdens of the past.
