If KKR had used Russel effectively for batting and bowling for all the games, they may have been a chance of going to the playoffs..

UPDATE - 8.36 pm IST (3.06 pm GMT) - Oopsie! The rain is back, and the mop-up operations will have to be paused as the ground staff and match officials retreat to their sheds. It’s coming down quite hard now, and the waiting game continues at the Chinnaswamy.

Still raining steadily. It rained quite heavily overnight and has been regular over the past week.

It is so unfair of BCCI to move final from Kolkata to Ahmedabad. Rains can occur anywhere anytime. KKR won last year's IPL and earned the venue of final for Kolkata. So why snatch it from them to benefit Ahmedabad?

What will happen if RCB vs KKR match gets washed out?

However, with rain still pouring in Bengaluru, let’s take a look at what might happen if the game gets washed out. If rain does disrupt the game and leads to abadonment without a result, it will hamper the future of both teams. KKR will officially be eliminated for the tournament, joining Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Whereas, an abdoned match would give both teams a point each. Moreover, it won’t make much impact for KKR, RCB with a point will replace Gujarat Titans at the top of the points table. However, this alone won’t guarantee them a place in the playoffs and would still need a win to officially secure a spot in the final four.
