I can't really speak Sanskrit and Marathi (at least not fluently) but I can understand them... kinda similar to how it is for you with Gujarati. Would have probably used google for some help if required

. I'm more familiar with the Devanagari script... so it's easier to learn new languages that follow the same script... rather than the Dravidian languages.
I think most people in India know at least 2-3 languages. We had English, Hindi, Gujarati and Sanskrit in school itself... so it's not some kind of personal accomplishment on my part
