By now we should know that Israel never turns the other cheek.

I am hoping they do. But can you blame them if they act vs 350’+ drones and missiles besides proxy hits thru hezbolah and Houthi. No. However in this instance I am hoping they don’t retaliate. Don’t need more instability there.

You mean, you *were* hoping. Because, Israel did retaliate just a couple of hours back…

Good news. It didn’t target nuclear or civilians unlike Iran that did target civilians and failed. Limited strike is what I am hearing.

now hope the fragile peace remains and extreme regimes of Iran etc don’t act.

Yes, more like a pull counter, in boxing terminology.

Nothing but theater so far. Israel didn't claim the attack, either to appease the western leaders who are calling for a de-escalation or to give an out to Iran so Iran gets to conveniently downplay the attack in public as something carried out by infiltrators, so they are not humiliated in the eyes of the world and forced to launch a full fledged attack (whether or not they are ready to do so) on Israel.

It's almost like both sides are bluffing at this point. We sometimes underestimate the self-preservation instincts possessed by world leaders. Of all the people in the world, they are the ones who most want to live and cannot let go of power while living.

@bold. I think Israel just wanted to demonstrate - you can’t harm us and we can enter your soil and attack at will (apparently the attack was close to Irans nuke facilities). Point made and now Iran 🇮🇷 better learn and step down. Seems like it did based on their foreign minister comments. So peace returns which is awesome.

now focus can resume back on eliminating the terrorists - hamas

Imagine not even protesting peacefully demanding peace. Such is the real irony of the situation. smiley19smiley18

Since in the past the US - during Clinton & Obama - interfered in Israeli elections w/ the objective of getting Netanyahu defeated, Bibi should return the favor this year. Unlike the Clinton operation against Trump, he doesn't have to talk to even one American while doing this

What he should do is take his time in the operation in Gaza, but intensify it in October, so that it starts making the news again. In fact, at that time, attack Hamas in Judea/Samaria as well. Make it so aggressive that there is world reaction similar to now

This will have a profound effect on the chances the Democrats have in November. All the Rashida-aligned Dems will either sit out, or vote for Cornel West, since Biden won't be able to do everything they want. In the meantime, all the Fetterman-aligned Dems - US Jews who instinctively vote (D), will also either sit it out or vote for RFK Jr, since they won't be able to stomach the anti-Israel moves of Biden. In other words, Biden will be too extreme for Israel haters, but not extreme enough for the "river-to-the-sea" jihadists, potentially losing him both their votes. This could end up flipping Michigan, Virginia and Minnesota to (R), ensuring a Trump victory

The best part of this is that Bibi won't have to talk to even one American while doing this, and the Dems can pull up another washed up bureaucrat to look into Israeli interference in the elections next year. Hopefully, this time, Trump will carry out a complete purge in Washington
