I don't think alia connected with the character in the movie. I think dp should've did this film since it was about mental health. But I know kat was the original choice for this film, not sure why director thought kat was the first choice since kat is good at romantic comedy movie, I thought she was the wrong choice for this film since she can't show emotions well so if I had to choose between kat or alia for dz than alia but alia was a miscast for dz. Alia does not know how to cry well on screen and she even knows that.

When alia's sisters was talking about mental health, she never understood what they were going through which I thought alia was the wrong choice for this movie. She is not a good actress to make the character believable.

I have seen so many times alia requesting saying please parineeti to teach how to cry, alia don't know how to cry on screen. poor girl, some actress needs to teach her how to cry, at least she is self aware she don't know how to cry or show emotions on screen which is a good thing.

Parineeti would have been a more natural choice. Conflicted characters with rising turmoil suit her well.

Those boys falling for Alia is more believable than them falling for Parineeti

Besides aloo was this bubbly short cute kid to srk. Just how the script wanted. Dp and kat would have been so odd. Everybody applauded aloo and srk in the theatre i saw. So i guess janta was happy.

Yeah. Not just that, the gif is sped x2. In actual scene, the movements are far slower and make sense. That's why it looks particularly comical. Not saying DP is the actor of the year, but judging her acting by an edited gif should hardly be the barometer.

Character wasn't of a bubbly short cute kid. Kiara was a woman not a kid, Alia played her like a kid. Jug falls in love with Kaira, he nevers sees her like a kid but Alia messed up

Hard agree with the post. I think when Gauri Shinde wrote the role, she had particularly an older actress like Kat on her mind. The movie focuses on a woman who has a career and has been in failed relationships. This mid life crisis and depressive reckoning doesn't come until someone is in their late 20s. The role demanded maturity and a dejected outlook on life which only comes with age. Kat would have been perfect for it. Or even any older actress.

Alia, on the other hand, turned the role into someone having had their first relationship and breaking up afterward. It was cute, which was not what it was meant to be. Due to her being younger and lacking nuance, the plot was directed to aid her strengths. Big loss.
