You are right. Kunal has the papers after paying of the goons Hemant borrowed from and mortgaged his house with. Now Hemant and his wife plan to make a deal that will sell the house for crores, pay kunal the amount he paid the thugs and then take the papers back from him.

But Vaibhav blackmailing V is ludicrous. V can say go to hell - I don't want your divorce and that will be sufficient to make Mrunal push Vaibhav to divorce - that will also help her learn his true colors.

First that money lender was threatening them to vacate the house as he has not paid the interest for a long time... Now, Kunal paid whatever the amount (loan amount+interest) is to the money lender and has the property papers with him..Kunal has not purchased the property, it is still in Vijay's name..you can repay the loan amount and get the property papers back from Kunal which is what Vandana is doing in installments...Since the property is worth crores, the other members of house want to sell it so they can repay the loan and take their shares to use for their personal dreams.. this is what I have understood from what is shown...
