Yeah google says she is from Nepal. I checked the audition terms and conditions of Indian Idol on SonyLiv and unlike IBD it strictly says only Indians residing in India are eligible to participate. But then It's also written that if any person has been on any televised round of a show of similar nature before then they are ineligible to participate but we have Mismi, Anjana, Dhroon participating so guess the rules are just for namesake

It could be one either rules are for just namesake or she has completely moved to India for her career and they haven’t change her residence status in google.

I cannot wait. I live in Canada, so waiting for it to air soon. I am so glad Indian Idol 14 finally changed their judges. I am excited for this season!

What a amazing growth of Menuka I remember watching her in Nepal Idol and Saregamapa and she wasn’t this good. Same for Anjana what a amazing singer she has turned I felt nostalgic when they showed her Indian idol junior audition. I also liked that guy who sang sukoon Mila sorry don’t remember his name and Dipan was good coz that song is also not easy to sing and I love how he had sing the original sargam. I am not against of improvisation but I thing something needs to keep original.

P.s I like how they didn’t made Vishal and Shreya behave like they are seeing Anjana first time when she enter to the stage.

Just started the show ten minutes ago and honestly, I don't even care if the singers are good. The vibes generating from the judges is so soothing and nostalgic that it feels like I've flown back in time. I will watch every week just for them. The singers will be a bonus.

Ok now for the performances.

The first two singers were good. The Humka Peeni Hai guy (can't remember his name) was fun and also good.

The guitar guys were very good, especially the first one that sang his own original song. He has finalist potential.

Mismi has a very unique. She almost sounds like Shreya and Kavita Krishnamurti combined with originality.

Menuka stole the show. That was a transcendent performance that I will never forget. Every season of every show has at least one singer that sings Lata songs. Menuka was different. She was better. This was one of the best audition performances I've ever heard. Everyone in my group loves her already.

This was an awesome show. So chill, throwback vibe, great chemistry with the judges. It felt like the good old days. The preview for the next episode was also promising. If the show can be like this on a consistent basis, it will be an all-time favorite season for me.

Anjana’s Udi udi was one of the best improvised versions heard live. 👍. Her voice is just made for Rahman songs. Awesome performance. 👌👍. She has grown wonderfully as a singer. Loved the brief Idol Jr recap with her filling in on the 10 years since.

Dipan was v good.

Menuka was great. Thankfully, there were no sob stories of AV clips from parents. 👍

Loved Obam. So refreshing. His original composition dedicated to his dad was beautiful.

Mismi didn’t stand out for me. Somehow there was no connect, though the singing was good.

Loving the vibes between the judges.👍

Shreya’s tears were meant for those missing Neha. 😁. But tears or no tears, shreya alone is enough to drive this season. 👍. I was waiting & lapping up her notes in between. Even thinking of giving an extra vote to those contestants who request her to sing a few lines… ❤️😁💕. Mohe Rang Do laal was blisssss 👌💕💕. Menuka aced her part too.

Exactly, Shreya irrespective of a terrific singer is also a really good judge. She ensured that she told the singers what part of their performance did she like the most along with the technicalities which is so missing in reality shows these days. It's either wah wah mind-blowing jai mata di or downright terrible feedback, judges hardly breakdown the contestant's performances and say what worked for them and what not. And thankfully I see that happening this season. I don't have much hopes from Sanu though since he is a bit like HR while giving feedback but well I'm not complaining since I get to hear him every week now
