Rekha was ugly to begin with. Watch her old films. So was Sridevi.

Even Jayaprada was ordinary (though not ugly).

They improved only with makeover, lot of make up and jewellery or shiny clothes.

Rekha has begun to be more praised only now because she looks younger or more well maintained compared to women of her age and her contemporaries.

Same goes for Hema who seems younger or more glam for a woman of her age. Though Hema was pretty and not ugly when she was young.

Honestly feel it is the other way around. TV actors never get their due in India in terms of respect. I will never say that they are very good looking or the best actors but many of them better lookers or actors than the likes of RS/VK/Tiger etc. unfortunately they will never have the same stardom or respect as even Jhanvi or Ananya get. They work everyday/have less grooming/less exposure but are better actors than many BW folks.

JW is pretty - she’s almost forty but does not look it. She’s a good crier too 😂 which works on ITV.

Wasn’t a fan of IPK when it aired but I think the show was very well written/executed to a certain episode by ITV standards. And it worked/is still very popular online because of the chemistry between the two leads. Sanaya is not bad (find her forehead too wide and teeth too long) and BS, when groomed looks good. Watched him in Asur recently and ASR and Nikhil are so different but he played them both well imo. His family man image also increases his attractiveness for his fans I think. Are they the hottest thing since sliced bread though? No. But not ugly imo.

All Gul khan shows were copy paste of each other.. Ishqbaaaz was also a copy paste but had the best ensemble Cast of all Gul khan shows, so it worked for me atleast for 150 episodes. . Ipk was a copy paste of geet hui show. Never liked Ipk, agree that barun and sanaya had good chemistry but never liked IPK,never liked sobti.. Sanaya was still tolerable.

Ranveer Singh - watched BBB again a few days ago and man, he looked bleh. Not in a he looks like a normal guy way but in a more how is he in the movie industry way. Also think his personality is meh, and he overcompensates with his antics.

Vicky Kaushal - Don’t know but maybe it’s his nose? His relationship with Katrina also seems like a farce to me (I know it’s not a popular opinion and Kat is very highly liked here) and I feel they hype their love story to stay relevant.

Arjun Rampal - nice body but his personality is snoozeworthy and brings down his attractiveness.

Current DP- she had a very pretty face but looks worn out and weird now. Haven’t found her pretty since Bajirao. The cheeks keep moving in and it makes her seem less feminine which was her selling point in the beginning of her career.

Katrina - she’s bland. Fair but very very bland. Simply white skin which people love.
Kareena - obvious. Karishma is the prettier sister and a better actor. Even Riddhima is really beautiful I think. Always felt she carries herself very well and looks elegant. R>Karishma>Kareena.

SSR - loved him in Pavitra Rishta and KDMHMD because of his characters and acting. But never found him to be a looker. RIP.

His wife Kajol was also never considered a looker.

Guys, I was talking about conventionally good looking people who are praised for the looks & were some sort of S*x symbol at some point. People like Ranveer, SSR, Ajay, Vicky have been criticized for their looks & are not considered conventionally good looking. Nargis Fakhri etc have never even been relevant enough to achieve that sort of adulation.

Manisha Koirala. Apparently she’s popular for her beauty but all I see is someone who suffers from chronic sinus issues with an eternal runny/itchy nose.

Raveena Tandon. Her square fingernails are ghastly.

Katrina Kaif. She’s pretty but not to the extent that everyone is dying over her.

Kareena & Karishma. Hell to the fcuk no.

Aditi Rao Hydari. This one will baffle me for all saat janams because WHATHEFEK am I missing?

Dharmendra and Feroz Khan. Bruh, both men in their youth still looks like my drunk uncle.

Siddharth Malhotra. Unpopular opinion but I don’t find him appealing. He cannot carry his height gracefully and always looks like a dangling daddy-long-legged spider.

Katrina is ordinary except for her body, height, white skin.

Devekaronda, NTR Jr, Prabhas, Rana, Ram Charan etc are not that good looking.

Neither were Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Kamal Haasan, Arvind Swamy, Mammooty, Mohan Lal, Prabhu etc. I wonder how they became so huge stars considering they were not even fit.

Govinda, Mithun, Sunil Shetty, Prabhudeva, Feroze Khan, Sanjay Khan etc had no great looks either.

Arjun Rampal's personality and way of speaking are so dull that it overshadows his looks. He is only good to be a model and not actor.

Sangeeta Bijlani, Kimi Katkar, Poonam Dhillon, Rati Agnihotri, Chitrangada Singh etc are others who have highly overrated looks.

I found Manisha Koirala overrated also and she looked sad or ready to cry at drop of a hat to me. I feel she was liked purely for her fair, porcelain skin.

80s heroine Farha was also dull and I feel she had no looks or talent and got work just due to fair skin.

Mamta Kulkarni was another one who, I wonder, how she was considered hot? Just for skin show and item numbers or kissing scenes? She was overweight and had ordinary looks.

Meenakshi Seshadri is another one whose looks, acting and personality seem overrated and dull to me. Her only plus point was her superior dancing skills.

And kill me, but I never thought Rani or Kajol or Preity were beautiful. They could be called cute at the most. But nothing more.

I do not think Smita Patil, Tabu, Vidya Balan or Shabana, Supriya Pathak, Konkona Sensharma are beautiful either. They are talented but beauty? Nope.

Tabu is admired more now simply because she looks better for women of her age. Otherwise never a beauty. She had a naturally dull face and voice which suited serious roles or tragedy roles.

Malaika's a strictly average looker but is admired purely for her skin show and over confidence with which she carries herself and for looking younger and slimmer for woman of her age. Talking about sex, keeps her more relevant.

Isha Koppikar, Helen, Bindu are others who I never found beautiful or hot. They just had good dance skills and did great item songs and were not afraid to do raunchy theme songs which is why they are popular.

Finally, I NEVER got the hype for Silk Smitha and could never understand why so many men still lust for her or like her eyes? She was not fit. She would be nowhere if she did not do the steamy, suggestive, raunchy and semi p*rn stuff which she did in 80s. Her eyes almost looked dangerous to me. I mean more like a ghost luring a person to death than any sexy siren seducing a man. I feel she would be too overweight for today's standards.
