Cannes has lost its lustre bringing so many influencers to do free advertising for their sponsors, then the not so a list celebs get in because apparently you can just buy a ticket, which many people do and then PR works their magic. Like seriously the likes of Urvashi just probably bought a ticket and then showed up at the red carpet.
Few others likely got tickets from their brand sponsor. They are there to promote the brand and likely don’t get to hang out with the real celebs.Gone are the days when a Sonam could get legitimacy as a fashionista because she went to Cannes.
lCannes is turning into a mass MET gala or Oscars/Emmys, where access isn’t exclusive anymore, which means it isn’t as special.
So well said.
No prestige at all.
I agree Oscars have lost it too. I mean why someone like Lilly Singh was there eh? Or how an ordinary song like Naatu got award?
The prestige or quality or exclusivity factor are fading.
They are becoming like fairs where anyone can buy ticket and enter.
No offense to fans but I feel Manushi is the dullest, most lacklustre Miss world from India. IDK how she won. No such looks or candour or aura.
Always looks emaciated to me.
Her voice and speaking skils are also meh. Her acting was meh. Her looks in any dress are meh.
big minus wtf is THIS even
agreed she looks plain afOriginally posted by: atominis

L'Oreal doesn't take their brand ambassadors to Cannes in their first year. I guess, the guest list and arrangements start immediately after each year's Cannes Fest. And L'Oreal took Anushka as their brand ambassador in September 2022.
People and press assumed she's going coz she's a L'Oreal brand ambassador now.

the whole Hollywood business is in big trouble. They are bleeding money despite trying to be diverse. Which points to and impacts the quality of their movies, their core business. Appealing to the Asian: Indian, Korean, Chinese crowd is their attempt to be profitable since its relatively cheap to get a Sara on the red carpet at Cannes, and churns decent $ while exposing them to a newer audience base.
Diversity is okay but talent should be there na? Someone like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Satyajit Ray, ARR actually had talent.
WTH do these influencers or TV actors or even Sapnas have?
Ash was atleast beautiful and had looks of an international star. Sara or Urvashi or Diana have none of it.
Sometimes I wonder how do these celebs even manage to enter the dress and wak with it. The dresses all look so heavy 🤔
Interesting but not surprised, I literally witnessed how this all started This tweet is kinda making wonders on x...
