She sat up suddenly on the bed sweating profusely and breathing heavily. The dream had felt so real. She quickly turned to her bedside table and took he phone. The wallpaper showed the time as 1 am. 5 more hours before dawn. She laid down again and tried to shut her eyes only to see the terrifying images again. Her heart racing at the sight, she got up and sat again. Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder
"Anu?"
She started at his voice and gulped in deep breaths trying to calm herself. He quickly rubbed her back and poured her a glass of water.
"Bad dream? Here... drink..."
As her breathing steadied and her shivers stopped, he gently took away the glass from her hand and placed it by the side table. Turning around, he pulled her towards him and let her head rest on his chest wrapping his hands around her. She snuggled into his embrace and placed few kisses on his chest wordlessly thanking him for being there.
"Do you want to share, Anu?"
She clutched him tight and nodded in negative.
"No... No...."
"Anu... look... I am here... Nothing, I promise... Nothing can harm you, now..."
Burying herself in him, she sighed.
"If I close my eyes.... it comes again... I am scared to close my eyes, Anuj"
He placed soft kisses on her head.
"Has this ever happened before?"
"Yes... Often when I was in Shah house... especially after Moti Baa's death... I couldn't share to anyone there... I used to feel so alone... I used to run to the kids room and hug Samar. Holding him close to me often helped me pass the sleepless night... After you came... the nightmares faded away... I don't know why it came back today..."
He said nothing, mentally scolding himself for not being able to spend much time with her owing to the new project. He gently rubbed her back, comforting her. After sometime, she said in a soft voice.
"Anuj...."
"Hmmm?"
"I am scared...."
"Of what...?"
"Of getting the nightmares again.."
He gently moved her away from him and tipped her chin up making her look at him.
"I promise you won't ever feel alone again.... And the nightmares... even if they come again, I will be right here... Right beside you... Holding you tight, till the nightmares go away..."
Planting a soft kiss on her lips, he mumbled against her lips
"You do trust me... don't you, Anu...?"
"With my life..."
Resting her head on his shoulder, she shut her eyes as he whispered sweet nothings into her ears painting dreams of love in front of her tired eyes.

A/N: The promo totally put me off. I won't be seeing the show from now. Continuing this particular fiction on the couple also seems unlikely to me. This part I wrote few days back and I am posting it now. Probably, this is the last update here.
