great idea … while writing FFs the writers do take time to think it over .. n that takes time …

Also while Live updating episodes of serials …I take no chances I update the page every 3-5 mins 🤣

Yeah, I have seen the terminologies before, and currently, there are a lot of genres including news, psychological thrills etc.

I was suggesting if we could introduce a couple more like RomCom, Tragicomedy, Psychology (minus the thriller part).

This is a very interesting suggestion.

You can quickly select pursuant to your wish these genres and forum stories information.

I am aware of this option dear but I was talking about creating personalized libraries in our profiles like we get to do on Wattpad. 😊

Say for example, I when I click on Romance, there will be a lot of romantic stories on both IPKKND and SSK. But for my own convenience, I want to be able to create two libraries, one that'll only contain stories of IPKKND irrespective of the genre and the other will contain all the SSK stories.

Whenever a writer posts his/her FF in the new FF section, her tagged members will get notification.

If you see in the forum main page, there will be information regarding the added FF stories in the FF site.

These two options I am aware of. But currently, we have to manually check the FanFiction option of the forums. I was thinking about inserting a following option for our favorite forums too like how we have an option for following our favorite author now.

Then we'll get notified every time a writer posts in our favorite forums whether we have followed him/her earlier or not.

Writers, who write quality, are writing quality stories already, however majority of them get posted in the forums. Posting in the FF section would make the stories more visible to the readers. Badges might encourage them to post in the FF section, and complete the stories. It can also encourage new writing talents to try their hand at writing... Even now, there is no dearth of spam stories. In an open forum, it depends on the writers what they want to write/post. Spamming is a valid problem.

There are pros and cons to almost every new thing.

Many authors will discover that when they migrate their fanfic to the new section they get followers who will be notified of new chapters and new stories.

There are few issues that it faces currently as I understand are:

1. The comment section looks less attractive compared to forum interaction.

2. Authors post on forums cause they feel they get more views there.

3. Report button missing.

4. Improve homepage to highlight different stories based on popularity, user’s interest.

5. Need to introduce Story Ratings System (similiar to how movies have General / PG / R etc) so that user have a clear idea on level of the story.

I am sure when we start on making our list we will discover more interesting ideas to improve that section.

I will soon create a separate Vote up Topic just for Fan Fiction as It will help us discuss in details the issues.

Lot's of things going on since I was last around here!

Just wanted to add, I used to write a lot years ago when I was on a show forum which was very active and the response there for FFs is what encouraged me to keep writing. The interaction and interest/response from others is more motivating. I actually removed those stories years later after the show ended and last year started to re-write one and it's just not the same kind of response. I can see why some wouldn't be inclined to shift over there. The member interaction and response is important to writing here. I also do find that stories that are on popular shows/couples tend to have higher traffic/response.

There are some unpopular (in sense of less traffic) but good stories I've seen in the new FF section especially original fictions, it would be great to find a way to highlight those as well.

Please could you either create a shortcut or introduce easier navigation to forum drafts and add an autosave feature so we do not lose long posts...

Can we post/upload pics here directly from phone/laptop not just by pasting link?

If not then make it possible, it will be very useful for us. 😳

Autosave feature and posting images without links would be very useful. Please consider it

Well it has been on our list for the longest and requested by so many members.

Recently we made some good progress in this regard. We are aiming to roll this out next week for Active DTs so that we can fine tune the feature before enabling it other user groups.

We will place some reasonable restrictions like number of images a user group can upload in a day/month etc.

Please vote this up if you feel its an important feature we should prioritise.

This is going to be a major update. Members have been wishing for this for a long time. For graphicers it's going to be so easy and we don't have to upload images externally. :)
