Bachchhan Pandey Shows Big Drop On Monday

Bachchhan Pandey showed a big drop on Monday as collections dropped 70% plus from Friday. This was pretty much expected as Gujarat / Saurashtra had dropped big on Saturday itself and it was the extended Holi period in parts of the country. The collections of the film were in the 3.50 crore nett range.

The film has not been accepted but even then it could have got way with it if had the Holi weekend to itself. These sort of films for mass circuits need that opening weekend as they are front loaded. Here the weekend did not come due to the competition so the writing was on the wall. Bihar had a good Monday with collections similar to Sooryavanshi on Monday but that circuit is playing catch up and will eventually fall into line by the end of the week.

The first week collections will probably be around 47 crore nett and there will not be much coming after as it will be replaced by RRR at most places while The Kashmir Files retains screens well due to good occuapncy. The four day business of Bachchhan Pandey is as follows.

Friday - 12,25,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 11,00,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 11,50,00,000 apprx

Monday - 3,50,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 38,25,00,000 apprx

What must have been collected in the 1st two days will now be the lifetime..BP's disaster has sent shock waves to the industry..

Ignoring Bell Bottom since it was partial lockdown and mumbai was shut..difficult to remember when an Akki's movie collected under 50cr last..anyone remembers?

Kashmir Files is a blockbuster, Gangubai Kathiawadi is a hit, and Bachchan Pandey is a flop, in other words audience are sick of mindless masala movies with the same 60 year old heroes romancing 20-30 year old girls, and actually want to watch gritty, intelligent content.

Yikes, that’s a big big drop on Monday! To be fair to Akki, I do think he was trying to do something a little different with this movie.

True, fact is he's a weaker actor compared to his contemporaries in lots of ways (and some of the younger guys in all fairness) and got ahead recently mainly due to riding the BJP wave and doing 92846 films a year, (some of which had good scripts) tbf 😆

I feel sorry for whoever is producing the Prithviraj Chauhan film, and Manushi rn😆

Kuch bhi.😆tab toh Kangana’s last few movies would’ve been super hits too na? And Khan’s wouldn’t have a single hit from 2014. Akki’s generally done OK because when you do 10 movies a year, at least a few will end up striking a chord.

The Shaukeens in 2014 (18 Crores), but that was extended cameo.

Otherwise it's Boss in 2013 (49 Crores) in which he had a full fledged role.
