There were rumors that Shantanu was playing the role of Gangubai's boyfriend/husband who sells her to the brothel. This song proved it was fake. Alia and Shantanu actually look good together.

I thought this song was set in her village..with her then boy friend. SLB should should show that part..her arrival in Mumbai,betrayal , trauma in the first half..
