Prithviraj was under 30 when he died. Someone like Ranveer or Ranbir or Varun or Ayushman, Rajkumar etc should have been cast as Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay Kumar is too old and totally miscast for this role. Too old for Manushi as well who is more than 3 decades younger than him.

Manushi looks expressionless, too statuesque. Neither the traditional beauty associated with Sanyogita.

I would rather watch the old TV serials made on Prithviraj and Sanyogita than this film.

It is totally unfair how Bollywood ignores younger, more suitable actors and makes mockery of historical characters. And monopoly of older lot continues no matter how unsuitable they are for roles they do.

Atleast an actor in his 20s or early 30s should have been cast for this role. Akshay looks like Manushi's uncle rather than some lover.

Casting is bad because Akki just doesn't suit, and most importantly doesn't have an epic BGM.

As shit as Bhansali is as a story teller, his movies are just straight up gorgeous and give a grand feel, which is generally missed in other BW historicals.

Ewww. Don’t ruin Prithviraj Chauhan for me 😭 Can’t believe this cartoon like over the top performance is a tribute to the hero.

PRC’s story was filled with heroism, tragedy and poignant moments. His friends, his love Sanyogita, his initial win against Ghori, betrayal of his allies and final defeat and death at the hands of Ghori are all powerful story plots.

When you deliberately cast an actor who is such a misfit, just by his age, for this iconic character, I know the makers aren’t serious about this tribute. I can’t watch Akshay Kumar mouth patriotic platitudes and make a comedy out of this 🤢

Comedy of errors.

I expected this film to be an unbearable clownish parody the moment I saw its casting. It's actually worse than my expectations. Given the immensely trashy output, they can actually rename it to Houseful 5 and release it.
