Anuj opened the door to his house with anupamaa leading himinside. The house, although it was his home never felt like one before Anupamaacame in. The house which had a similar setting as her old one and was furnishedto the minimum, had now started to look different and more homely than coupleof hours ago.
âYour house is nice, simple but niceâ Anupamaa commentedwhile walking towards the pictures that were stuck on the wall, observingeverything and touching every detail through her eyes.
âItâs up to you now to make it as fancy as you like it orjust leave it simple yet beautiful like youâ Anupamaa looked at him, littlecuriosity and little smile playing on her lips and moved forward. Humming underbreath and observing every corner of the house as much as she can, beforereplying in whisper, enough for him to hear but not loud enough for anyoneincluding the walls to listen.
âshayad, I have to mark my territory and identity right?âshe took hold of the photo that was placed in the cabinet with her and Anujduring the engagement ceremony. âI didnât know you took picture of us, thoughtwe are not making a deal about itâ
Hai rom rom iktaara
Hai rom rom iktaara
Jo baadalon mein seguzre
Anuj ducked his head and fidgeted with glasses, âcute yetsexyâ Anupamaa thought. Surprised by the bold thought she just had and hopingthat she did not think it loud as she does in front of him nowadays. âAnu, doyou want something to drink? Chai or limca? I think GK kaka has left somenimboo paani if you want thatâ. âLimca is fine thank you.â Although the idea of chai sounded so temptingand better choice, due to giving her excuse to stay back little bit longer thanshe needs to be here, the chai will lead to moments and feelings that shecannot handle at present.
Tu hoga zara paagal, tune mujhko hai chuna
Kaise tune ankahaa, tune ankahaa sab sunaa
Tu hoga zara paagal, tune mujhko hai chuna
When he first entered in her kichda that her life hadbecome. With kavya taking every opportunity to defame and insult her, anuj cameas a âjohnka hawa kaâ and took her out. He had shown her that love was notmaking you look weak and stupid that Mr Shah had done but to give you enoughrespect to act and behave the way she wants to. Not question her character oreven her mistakes, had made her fall in love with him more. âLoveâ, a fourletter word that has been used by many but not felt, like she did with anuj.
Tu din sa hai, mainraat
Aa na dono milljaayein shaamon ki tarah
Anupamaa explored the living more freely, while anuj went tofetch the drinks that he offered. Touching and feeling the every corner of thespace that she soon be making her reflection, strolling her finger through thebookshelf that had taken its place in the corner. Hidden away from thelimelight and forgotten among the paintings in the room. Like she had been tillnow, a furniture that was taking the burden of all types of feelings, whetherit be tears, smile or even heartbeat but was not as valued as pictures that hadcolours but no depth or story.
But not anymore. Now she has become like fragrance that stayson the skin once applied and becomes part of the memories of that person. Isshe like this? Someone that Anuj identifies with just her smell? Hey kanha jiwhat has happened to her? âAnupamaa you are acting like a teenager girl whojust found out that her crush has noticed herâ. Since when has she become like this
Ki aisa beparwah mannpehle to na tha
Chitthiyon ko jaisemil gaya
Jaise ik naya sapataa
Ki aisa beparwah mannpehle to na tha
âSee anything youlike?â Anuj asked for third time. He had been standing in the background forlast couple of minutes. Observing how Anupamaa has been inhaling every detailof the room, which has only been used if someone comes and visits GK. But notfor Anupamaa. Things that everyone does not seem to be interested in or donâtgive importance to, she finds it more interesting and values it.
âDidnât know that you were reader. Which one is yourfavourite?â
You. All of you. Anujthought but its not the time to say cheesy things like this. It has to wait.Few more days and when she becomes his completely than he will tell her. Tellher everything that he has been feeling and showing all the love that he hadkept for her. 26 years he waited for this moment, what two more days? Seems like thousand years. His heartspoke
âDepends on the mood im in and the memories that is hauntingme at that momentâ for Anuj reading has never been about killing time andchoosing a book or novel that touches him. But is an escape route for him, which allows him to run away from the feelings and memories that have beenhunting him. Not anymore
âOh! Thought you could have guided me in which I should readafter we get married. Oh well, might have to read all of themâ Anuj grinned, like he has never done before. âSounds like a plan but I think reading is goingto come at the bottom of my list after we get marriedâ. Handing the drink toanupamaa and pouring himself a glass of wine, he sat down on the couch, makingspace for his future wife to join next to him.
Khaali raahein, humaankh moonde jaayein
Pahunche kahin tobewajah
The couch had two long cushions and a small one in themiddle, so anupamaa decided to sit in the middle. Keeping little distance fromher and Anuj but not so much that she misses the little reactions he does whenhe is talking to her or even when he is in her presence. Get used to it! There is more in store for you Mrs Anuj Kapadia. Aname that send shivers does her spine, but also glow like a moon that has comeout in full moon night. âSo wine is only when you are staying at home?âAnupamaa asked while taking in how he drank from the glass.
âyupâ. Anuj who was sitting on the other cushion, less inthe middle and bit closer to Anupamaa moved little bit more, stretching his armout so he can linger his fingers on her back slightly. âI like to have drinkonly when im on my own company, not too much but a glass or two. Depending theday and situation I have to deal with in the office. I hope you are not thatbothered with itâ.
âWhy should I be? I think is a good practice if only youdonât go beyond your limit. I really admire the work you have to do and thestress you have, so if it helps you to relax than I see no issuesâ.
âThank you Anu, but I hope that i wonât be needing this tohelp me release the stress but time with you would be enoughâ Anupamaa lostherself into the fantasy, an acknowledgement of herself in his life and theimportance he had given her, was something that she had never experienced withMr Shah. That was past and a mistake.Anuj is your present and future

Without knowing, anuj and anupamaa both had shifted closeruntil both of their shoulders were now touching and their knees brushing. Everypart of the small contact that was made while talking about everything and yetnothing, made anupamaa go into a world that was so strange to her, yet sobeautiful. She had become like a child in the paani puri stall, who was fullyet wanted more of the spicy and tangy snack.
It was getting late, and despite of the moment that theywere enjoying, their eyes were drooping. Anuj slowly got up and took hold ofAnupamaaâs hand and led her to the bedroom, which he will be sharing with herin couple of days âSomething tell me that I donât think we both would be ableto stay awake till I drop you home. So why donât you take the bed and I takethe couchâ Just a wall between us, howwill I be able to survive this night? Should have just dropped her. Anuj, youare grown men and will be getting married to her in couple of days. Grow apair.
âThank youâ Anupamaa replied and made her way to the roomthat she has been yearning to see since she got here.
âNot a problem, Iâll just get myself a pillow and blanket. Thanthe room is all yoursâ
