It was barely crack of the morning when the wedding ceremony of Anuj and Anupamaa was starting. Anupamaa, who was now getting ready with her two daughter on laws and son in the garden of the house that she first stepped her foot in as a daughter in law but was now going away as a daughter. Less than few hours she is going to be a wife to a beautiful man who first understood her as a friend and helped her in achieving the dreams that she never thought she would ever in life to becoming a women that she is now. Applying the black eye liner under her eyes and putting on her last touches of the makeup before putting on the red/green lehenga that has been chosen by her for the wedding.

Looking at herself for the final time in the mirror,Anupamaa took the kangan that was sitting on the bedside drawer. The kanganswere given to her from GK kaka as a token from Anuj’s mother and blessing. Itwas not as expensive as her previous ones that was given to her by her ex and his family but it was nice and simple. Anuj was a rich men and if he wanted to, he could have brought her anything that she would like but he was not like this. He was a very simple men not like Vanraj and did not care what others thought of him and did not see buying stuff as a way of showing others what he was capable of. Seeing her reflection in the mirror, she saw the way she had become. More confident and sure of herself. She did not need anyone to approve on how she behaved or what she did. It was as if she was reborn again after meeting the soul mate of her life, Anuj. Taking a slow step outside of her room which she had made it as her own little paradise, she gave a final glimpse before she started her own little journey with Anuj. As Mrs Anupamaa who belongs to one and only Anuj.

Samar, who had his back turned on the entrance of her mummy's room was getting ready. Who have thought that his mother, who was seen as a useless furniture in his fathers home had not only proved what she was after divorcing the useless man who he, unfortunately had to admit was his father. But also have the daring to go against everyone and proposed to the one man who he from his heart began to admire. He always had this perspective that love was all about gaining and having the person you love by your side. Nope. Not after meeting Anuj Papa that he realised that its all about letting the person you love be happy on their own and not getting them does not mean you cannot love them. Putting on his favourite cologne that was brought by his mum on her last business trip. Who have thought she would be flying on business trips. That’s a slap on Mr Shah, who have been doing nothing but drown in his jealousy ever since. Turning around to see his mother looking at him, asking his approval on how she looked. When she knows that in his eyes already she is the most beautiful women and not only him but also for the one she has decided to dress up for. Looks like the old habits never die. At beginning she was seeking approval from her trash husband, later it was his grandmother and them and now… not anymore. He very well knows Anuj Papa is not like this. He is million times better than any guys he knows.

This was happening. Itis actually really happening.
Babuji faintly pinched himself as he looked at his daughter now entering the little mandap that they had done in their colony. Once a little girl they had welcomed in their home and in their heart. Not everyone had done that but he had, and now she was bidding them goodbye as a daughter. He always in his heart felt sorry for her and cursed himself for putting her in relationship with a person who was no less than abuser. Maybe that’s why he always gave her more special treatment than a father in law does.
“I cannot believe that at this age we have to see this day again.” The flashbacks of what we have done to her whether she would say it or not, it was the reality.
“ are you even listening to me… I mean does anyone anymore listen to me”
the complaining that his wife did had become part of his living hour and it brought him back to the reality ever so often. He wasn’t the type to have an argument with his wife in front of anyone but that didn’t mean he didn’t wish to have. He always wondered the way his father and him treated their other half, how come his son became the way he was. Was it partly his fault or was it something else. A tear rolled down his face as he took his seat on the floor opposite the priest. Not today. He wasn’t going to let his mind and his thoughts ruin the best day of his life. Watching his soon to be son in law enter the mandap and taking his rightful place. His head held up with pride. Finally after so long he made a right decision. Smiling at him and showering him with blessings he took the offering that was given to him and listened to the instructions that was given to him.

The journey now begins
The world which he only knew by seemed much quieter and beautiful from where he sat. Although there was music playing in the background and the noise of both the pandit and people were heard, Anuj still found it being more peaceful than he ever imagined or heard. Excitement that had been swelling in his chest ever since that moment that she had proposed to him, became bigger and bigger. In less than few hours, he would be walking out of this very place with his wife walking beside him.
“Look at how beautiful she is looking and how gracefully she is walking down the aisle for you.”
The dreaminess and admiration that was presented in GK’s voice caught his attention and he looked up to the very women that was coming towards him. If anyone would asked him in past on how he defined beauty. The two names would always come up. First being his mother and second Anupamaa. However, right now looking at her coming down the aisle he was very sure that even his mother would willingly say that beauty is defined by her only. “You have all your life ahead to stare at her. Right now do your bit for the wedding.” The little scolding jolted him out of the la-la world that he starts to enter when he is in the same place as Anupamaa and brought him back to the real world, which was no less than a dream for him right now. Anupamaa who gazed up, her expression which had content rather than clouded that she wore before and had respect for him. A feeling and expression that he never experienced with anyone before. Is this what married life is like?
If it was than he is really happy for their journey to begin as a husband and wife.

Married
The two priests who conducted the marriage had concluded. The feelings that she was now sensing was waiting for it to come to the surface. After years of resentment and torture that she had experienced, the moment of happiness that she gets now becomes like a blessing in disguise. She folded her hands in front of the holy fire and touched the feet of her elders that she had seen as not only her parents and guide but also the reason why she was still alive after all the betrayal that she had gone through.
Don’t Anupamaa. Don’t let your past ruin your present and future.
Being married to the man, who apart from being the saviour in her life, was someone that not only who understood her but treated her like she was equal to him in every way. Not forgetting the fact that he was sexy as hell. A treat that she would definitely love to find out later on. Taking the last blessings from everyone that had come to the marriage and hugging her children who were their not only to show her support but also make her realise that she was not alone in the world. She headed towards the car that was parked outside.
This is it. The journey that began as a friends and then into business partnership, is now heading towards a beautiful road of marriage.
