Ishqi is being emotionally and verbally abused and then they'll show her being mahaan by forgiving them. That's not done. I stopped watching show from this week. I don't think I will start again anytime soon. Might not at all.

I don't think forced marriage will be a track here, we have seen Ishqi walk out of one inspite of immense pressure.

Also, I have hope that Ishqi will not forgive Ahaan so easily, it's very unlike her.

Let's keep our fingers crossed! I don't have much hopes.. writers' follow the same script usually. If they show the change then it's welcome with wide hands 🤗

I'll read the comments here n know ki shadi huyi ya nahi😆

HOPE INIDA FORUMS IS GIVING HER FEEDBACK ON THE DIRTY WORDS BEING USED ON THE SHOW .....

MAN CAN SOMEONE COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS INSANE LANGUAGE

RAPE , BAD WORDS , VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN , MISTREATING OF WOMEN ...GUL KHAN PLZ PRAY TO GOD FOR YOUR SALVATION AT LEAST ..

I didn't know this was a Gul Khan show since I never watch it start to end. But it's highly ironic because a bunch of us complained to the BCCC about a previous Gul Khan show: Qubool Hai (in 2013). The show really marinated in cruelty against women. We specifically complained about torture scenes and elderly abuse (an older woman was hung upside down from a fan by the villain) and the vamp's use of acid in the FL's mehendi. Disgusting in a country where acid attacks on women are common.

You all can and should complain: https://www.ibfindia.com/complaint-faq

Once the BCCC gets a complaint they call the channel reps for a hearing. It doesn't do too much — in our case the channel was forced to run an apology scroll for a week. Now usually the channels avoid such complaints by posting a disclaimer at the bottom of the scene: "This is for dramatic purposes only. The channel does not endorse violence against women. Blah, blah, blah."

It seems later some other people complained about the same show for the same narrative: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/qubool-hai/4303466/bccc-complaint-against-qubool-hai

Use your voices. Make some noise. Complain to BCCC. At least that forces the channels and production houses to take some notice of viewers' disgust.

It makes me mad and sad that this still continues. That's the reason I sometimes prefer Pakistani shows where the evil doers are ALWAYS punished unlike Hindi shows.

I think we should. The thing is it is Gul's trademark and she always gets away with it. I commented on SonyTV and Gul's official page multiple times there has been no response.

They never respond. They see this kind of fan engagement as good for ratings. The angrier and more disappointed the fans, the more buzz is created for their rotten shows.

Very well said, Neha. This is just so disappointing and demeaning.

We are accepting the insults and humiliation thrown at her but look at the obnoxious and sick word choices they use. I mean, I don't even know what to say.

I have absolutely no problems in writers going to extremes but at least handle it well? What message are you really giving?

These are women writers writing these things.

It's straight up misogyny and patriarchal backdrop. They don't want to think beyond it and no wonder women still undergo such abuses by other women and think it's okay because tv pe bhi yahi hota hai.

This has been in my mind for a few days, finally putting it out. I'm not sure if anyone of you has touched upon this topic, might've missed it.

The issue: Sonu's molestation, clicking pictures without consent.

So, we've all been angry that Mayank did not actually face any consequences of his actions (jail nahi gaya)

But *sigh*

Only if

Sonu has gathered some courage and confided in Raj. I really believe he would have supported her, along with Kartik (who almost knew) and Ahaan would have been in a dilemma but end up supporting his dear sister.

I would love to see dadi and Sarla aunty depicting the society and blaming the girl only to be shut up by Raj, Kartik n Ahaan, the holy trinity. Chachi n chacha also coming out in her support after some initial hesitation.

Suman aunty proud of Ishqi for standing up against crime and speaking against her not-so-great son.

This unnecessary drama has a major impact : one, this happens quite commons to many girls (and boys too). They watch the show and if Sonu would speak up, it would give them some much-needed courage to share it with their friends/parents and know that they would be supported and not be blamed.

We need this positivity in our life. When this show tries to be so progressive, why not show this.

We would still get a very high-voltage drama as Sarla aunty and daadi blaming Sonu and Raj, Kartik, Ahaan defending her!

Second, sending Mayank to jail would give hope to many victims to speak up against the abuses faced by them.

Somewhere this needs to start. Especially on a channel that shows Crime Patrol and CID all the time.

Also, the actor portraying Sonu getting threats on social media just shows why we need to see this change on ITV. They could even show this angle, cyber crime police tackling the haters when Sonu/Ishqi try to go online and share their problems with others.

That's my two cents. Feel free to share your thoughts.

Dear...🤗

I strongly agree with each and every word you said.

If she had shown some courage and talked about this matter with Raj, Kartika and Ahaan, then it would have been a great plot.

And yes, makers could have shown cyber crime and police angle to punish Mayank.

Just now, read a quote "Lessons in life will be repeated until they are learned. "

This suits Sonu very well. She hid things previously and we all know what were the consequences. Now also, she chose to stay quiet instead of sharing the problem with her family and husband.

She needs to learn to share her problems and open up with her family.

Well she has been in a traditional family and it's difficult to speak up considering all the circumstances but she has a very supportive husband and brother who she could confide in, with the help and support of Ishqi.

Maybe 50 years later we will get such shows. 🥺

To the Topic Maker

Great point and so true and well penned.

There is,also the issue of attempted suicide on the part of Sony. That needs to be brought up and highlighted too. It may not make any difference to the likes of Darla but the Malhotra family and Raj need to know what her mental status was.

Ahaan needs to understand that his sister would rather take her life than speak up due to the forced pressure of scandalized, perfect Sonu - she cannot do anything 'galat'.
