A Thousand Years

"But Vansh-"

Riddhima couldn't complete as Vansh cut her off

"You. Are. Going. Back. End of Discussion."

Riddhima took a last glance at his back. Vansh wasn't facing her. He was looking at the window.

"Thank you.."

She said the last word in a soft voice before leaving the piano room.. He freed her.. She was afraid. Afraid of him. But he didn't harm her, but instead saved her life, risking his own. He told her the truth. The truth of not only him, but even herself. He broke the wall of lies that was standing between her and her mother whom she never saw. And now? Now, he is making her leave. He blames himself for her injury. He blames himself for that night when she was in the verge of death.

Riddhima took a last glance at the Raisinghania Mansion. She chuckled knowing what the world thinks of this family. Behind the curtains they are something else.. Hell, they are not even mortals!

Still, whoever they are, she'll miss them..Yes, she will miss this weird family.

Just when she was going to take a step out of the door, a known voice called out her name.

"Siya?" she whispered

"Don't you know Vansh bhai? He ends up doing things that hurts him in the end." Siya spoke wheeling in front of her.

"Why are you saying all these, Siya?"

she asked, confused

"Everyone wants the blood of the First Vampire's descendant. That includes the Raisinghanias too. Bhai could do it if he wanted. But he didn't. Aryan wanted to feed on you, but Bhai slapped him. Remember this - Vampires can heal themselves "

Riddhima didn't get her words first. Suddenly something clicked in her mind. She looked at Siya and the wheel chair, horrified.

"That's right. I can perfectly walk."

She revealed, standing up on her feet and walking closer to her.

"It was Vansh Bhai's plan to get you here. "

Riddhima's heart sank as she gripped the handle of her luggage tightly. Is she in danger?

Siya slightly laughed.

"Do you know, how much Bhai regretted telling you his age? He came to me with an upset face saying that you called him 'grandpa' "

This time, a small smile graced her face remembering how she wished Vansh good night after knowing he is over 1000.

"But why are you telling me all these, Siya? What's the point?" She asked.

"The point is that, Vansh bhai loves you, Riddhima. He wanted you here, with him. And even after knowing you have connections with The First Vampire, whose blood he wants for years, he still loves you. He loves you enough to choose you, over becoming powerful beyond limits and fight for you."

"W-what are you saying?" Riddhima's eyes burned with tears. Her heart fluttered in happiness knowing he loves her too!

But watching you stand alone

All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow

Siya repeated making Riddhima let go of her luggage and run up the stairs to Vansh's room, crying, tripping, yet not stopping.

"I didn't know that all of these would lead to you, being injured, Riddhima.. I don't want you to leave.."

Vansh slumped on the carpet, fighting with his tears.

Suddenly the door burst open, revealing a crying Riddhima, taking deep breaths.

Before Vansh could react,she rushes and sits down to his level, before taking him in a tight hug.

"Riddhima?"

"Why didn't you tell me before?" she cried.

He knew Siya won't let her go without telling the truth. He finally let his tears fall, hugging Riddhima closer, as a smile adorned his face..

"Okay, okay, last question! How's your daughter doing, Mrs Raisinghania?" a reporter asked forwarding the mic towards Riddhima

"She recently turned 10 months and has learned to utter a few random words."

Riddhima, in a beautiful pink suit, smiled at the media.

"Well, I think that's enough for today. You all may leave." Vansh said, in a rather ordering tone.

The camera flashed innumerable times, capturing The Vansh Raisinghania and his wife for the last time.

"Awww, my fluffball!"

Riddhima took her daughter in her arms, who was fluttering her eyes right after waking up from a 4hr nap.

"Riddhu, she woke up?"

Vansh called out hearing his baby's blabberings.

"Look, cutie, your idiot papa came!" She pointed at Vansh who was glaring at her.

"Excuse me, Sweetheart?" He smirked.

"Take her, I forgot my phone downstairs." Riddhima handed her in his arms and almost ran out of the room, making Vansh chuckle. He took his daughter's soft, tiny hands in his and felt her resting her head on his shoulders.

Riddhima walked down the stairs and saw Anupriya.

"Riddhi, did Adhya wake up?" She asked, while making sure the long curtains in the hall are closed properly.

"Yeah, mom, she is with Vansh now."

Anupriya smiled and went to Dadi's room.

Its been a year. Even though not being like them, she somehow became a part of this unusual family. Ishani, Aryan, Siya, everyone loves Adhya.

She saw Mrs D'souza walking by, with a tray on her hand, who passed a smile at her. Riddhima smiled back.

Taking her phone from the sofa, she went, back climbing up the stairs when some traces of blood on the steps caught her eyes.

Riddhima barely reacted.

She is used to all these now. She is used to living in this dark place in the name of VR Mansion, which is only lightened up with artificial lights, not letting a single bit of sunlight in. She is used to seeing blood here and there in the Mansion. She is used to living with this family, who are not what the world thinks them to be. They are full of secrets. They are mysterious. They are heartless who won't think twice before taking a life.
