Why a singer can not be as big as an actor in India? - Page 3

Because they are invisible...never did understand the actors having to mouth the words to whatever song appears out of the blue in the middle of a scene, I mean the dancing is ok but why the singing too, in a perfect pitch, to a very different voice...I guess that is just how they do it in The Bollywood...invisible props. Too bad too.

p.s. Do you know how insulting it is to call Ms.Mangeshkar... or Sonu...playback singers, as if....! In Hollywood they tell you it's Dion singing or when Houston made a film, she was really The singer. Even Les Misérables film, they could have hired an opera singer, Because Bullock is not a singer, the public can tell when a voice it's not top notch, or they can pick out the faults, but they opted for less to allow the actors to really really be the ones putting in the effort (it works because Les Mis is a musical) BUT the public was told over and over and it was a hit with people appreciating her efforts while recognizing her weak points.
