Where the dynamic Priyanka completely overshadowed the wooden Deepika!
This scene is shining moment of Kashibai
Priyanka's character is powerful, here she is accepting her husband's mistress for his sake, she is a strong and scorned wife, the character evokes sympathy
On the other hand, there's no power in Deepika's character, she is a mistress who is talking about her husband's love for his wife
Comparison of acting would have been if both were at loggerheads or both were strong characters

I don't agree with this. Shining moment is never just a character's powerful moment. Mastani was supposed to be a fierce warrior princess who defied so many obstacles to be with her man. There are so many damn emotions she could've showcased. Pride and anger mixed with guilt, respect for Kashi yet not accepting her insults.
In the scene where Kashi Bai tells Bajirao to never enter her chamber she is still playing that strong, scorned wife and Ranveer is in a very similar position as Deepika from this scene. He is defending his two timing the way Deepika is. Yet Ranveer's acting is almost as excellent as Priyanka's. He is the man who wronged this woman so I am sympathetic to Kashi but I get how much pain he was in. I looked at Deepika listen to Kashi's insults here and her pain and I have no idea to what extent those words hurt. I see tears but not any depth or complexity of pain. And I know Deepika can do better, we have seen better from her.
