karma means action, your action but its not about just physical action nor is it some reward punishment system. sonam getting upset is her karma meaning her doing but of course she would blame others as she sees them as the cause of her anger or upset but in reality she is the cause, its her doing, its her feelings, she generated it and gave power to their words. if she can't help it that is also her karma, her doing.
I find it very insensitive when people say its your karma like someone is born handicapped so its their karma, tell them and see how they feel meaning instill more guilt into them. make them feel even more bad about their existing circumstances.
karma is also memory. karma is also bondage. karma is also interdependence. sonam posting about karma, you then making a thread about it then me writing to you is all part of it.
you're born in certain family because you've ancestor karma meaning memory. you can't just jump for that you've to break those karmic ties which most don't do and don't know how to.
you look a certain way because of your genes, dna but you're born in that place because of memory (karma) its nothing to do with good or bad deeds. the universe doesn't see things as good or bad. there's also unconscious memory from past lives. those also determine your next life. your soul purpose, lessons also determine. your innate tendencies, tamas also plays a major role.
if your soul needs to learn a certain lesson then you might be born in a certain family at certain time in history to best suit you but as I said its mostly bondage and unless you break it, you're gonna keep on moving in circles, that's what they call wheel of samsara, cycle of birth and rebirth.
its also an accumulation. its also about volition, your intention. we're being reincarnated moment to moment. Right now we can in a sense break free from karma but we reincarnate ourselves back as a thought, as tension stuck in the body, as a contraction. if you notice we never fully let go, we're kinda scared to let go like we'll stop existing, that holding on is karma, our bondage.
there's also craving, aversions. we're in this push pull. we crave pleasure and have aversion towards pain. this craving/aversion, this push/pull, this desire/fear, this wanting/not wanting is also our karma. that's why the buddha taught the middle way. the middle way is getting out of this push/pull, out of constant wanting and not wanting. that's samsara, that's our karma. if you break it, you break free and you're out of karma, out of bondage. you stop reincarnating yourself.
these desires, fears also plays a role in your rebirth. your environment also does, your parents karma too. its all interconnected. even devi/devtas are in samsara as they're in the cycle of birth/rebirth and its not like once you're a devi devta you remain that way, anytime you can fall from grace and be born as a human or animal, only the buddha are free of samsara as they're out of it.
so anything that is manifested like spiritual beings or devi/devtas in astral planes are still in bondage, still in samsara, this is all karma.
ultimately its a game of hide and seek. the ultimate one, the parabrahman is playing a game of hide and seek with his own self in billion different forms. when he decides to wake up, he'll till then enjoy the game and play well 😃
