Although Satyavathi never wanted the throne for herself, but still her choice to stick with the plan, and to not oppose her father before Bheeshma came along cane back to bite her in the form of the two princes.

ha ha . true that!! MB is an epic example on how people take situations as an excuse and do certain acts. I would name them as weak as they hide behind situations many a times.
