Here you go:
I m liking this idea of rerun of both Ramayana and Mahabharat. Giving parents n children n grandparents to watch together n share their views. It's so good to see it again.
Abhi when we were watching, my Mom put forth an interesting point: this track of Satyavati's penance is actually a metaphor for the lesson, that if you attain power by denying someone else, in the end only you and your choices will remain to repent.
Although Satyavathi never wanted the throne for herself, but still her choice to stick with the plan, and to not oppose her father before Bheeshma came along cane back to bite her in the form of the two princes.

I watched the episode with grandparents... they were kind if celebrating the telecast of the old classics

its intriguing how people were so cool to have kids with people other then their wedded husbands
maharishi vyas was born out of wed lock .. so were Kuru and Pandu ...only Bhishma was a truly royal blood....please correct me if am wrong

A wedding has always been considered to be the union of two souls, not just the chanting some mantras or performing some rituals. So, why would Satyavathi and Parashara's relationship will not be considered marriage?
And the niyoga neeti had been in relevance since Parashuram had killed all Kshatriyas. One family was allowed to perform niyoga only 3 times.
That is exactly why Kunti passed on her divya mantra after Arjuna was born! 😳
