And it's not even limited to BW, every other stand-up comedian cracks jokes on rape. Their content comprises of periods, Hindi slangs/gaalis, rape jokes, some more gaalis aur bas ban gya stand up comedian.

I think that's why everyone should be responsible AND sensible, especially in entertainment.

yes movies are fictional and we should have creative liberty..but sadly many lack enough perception /self-awareness/education? to make the diference between movie and reality.

I agree. But expecting sensibility from BW people where people casually say that they felt like a raped woman during shooting of a particular scene is really irrelevant.

@bold that's the Irony, these people do and say all the filth in the name of FOE. And when someone points that out, they cry oceans for being intolerant. Besides, sensor board in India is such a joke.

I agree with you and I am going to say something that might upset some people: in the West, usually, these subjects are dealt with in a right manner. Why?because the audience is more.. sensible?educated?? aware?? enough to reject low blow jokes and degrading stuff..and producers know the audiences won't buy their product. (Yeah they might have a small market to hillbillies whatever, but not a big enough market to sustain). So it's about demand and education..about audiences being educated/elevated/sensible/responsible enough to accept certain things as 'creative liberty'and reject and condemn unnecessary and degrading things like joking about r*pe. I think once Indian audiences reject and protest against such degrading things being used, the producers, being hit where they hurt most- in the pocket- would take note and do it less or not do it at all. But as for now they have an audience, they have a market that either laughs or pays and is not bothered by such things..they will continue to do so.

But this is not just related to india. I have been in many countries where I've felt audiences are not 'getting' such similar message... and producers were using such cheap and degrading means as a way to 'entertain' and fill their pockets.. so it's much more to do with education, family values, growth, awareness..and sensibility for audiences.. Heck , I just saw a old YouTube thing where American audiences were laughing in a daytime show about some guy dying of AIDS!!! , in 1989..and very few in audience felt that it was wrong... I heard that viewers at home condemned the host&audience of that daytime show in B IG NUMBERS and the host pretty much lost invitees, his career ended pretty soon... so there CAN be consequences to such low blow jokes.

I kinda agree. Artists act like anything is justified in the name of art n they r the most important people thus cant be accountable.I dont think a bank can get away with giving loan interests as per your skin colour but bw can write sobgs aftersongs about gora is great. Artists think they live in a vacuum.

Well the they need the lectures. They need the education. Not people who know the difference between real life and a movie
