Yes.

They love each other.

She was guilt tripped of Ajay sacrifice and culture wedding.

But that's also reality girl ready to maary of parents choice than fighting for their own love if he is not of same caste and/or earn good.

More than love i always i feel there was a strong infatuation n attraction between nandini and sameer. Like as per nandini , he met a foreign guy in her young age , liked his atrangi or different antics , got her first love bites , attracted physically for a guy first time. on the other hand for sameer , he was a cool dude , found nandini a beautiful, chulbuli type girl who attracted him . more than nandini , i think sameer attached with nandini's family . n that is why he left nandini just coz of a stupid condition. here the strong bond of love like caring , sharing was completely missing ..

but dhanraj cared for nandini a lot . yup as husband he should. but he could show his male ego, tortured nandini. but he respected her a lot which is most important part of love .

so according to me , nandini deserves only dhanraj more than sameer.

LMAO WHATS THIS? Now I don’t think I will ever forget all the fact said in this video if I come across HDDS again to watch as it does play often on tv. So true. Most of old movies were all about regressive messages, listening to controlling parents, and do what the society wants rather than what was right and you wanted. It’s the same in Dhadkan, and many others. That’s why I think DDLJ was really different and much more progressive than most of the movies at the time. But even there Rahul had to wait till he made Angeli’s controlling father to his side and make him agree to marry his daughter.

You mean Simran?

IMO I personally don’t think it was out of societal pressure or parental pressure. Because at that time she wasn’t under the control of her parents. She was under Vanraj’s control, who had given her full freedom to chose her own destiny and she still chose him. So it’s hard to make the argument she made the decision she did due to parental pressure because at that time she wasn’t under any.

The family was beyond doubt regressive. But Nandini was always shown as a rebellious sort had it been the right thing to do. She helped her cousin escape the abusive relationship and reunite with her old love. So had rebellion been the right thing to do. She would have done it without thinking. It’s why her attitude towards Vanraj to some extent was understandable. As she was forced into marriage which is beyond wrong. But at the end she doesn’t have anyone to rebell against as Vanraj her husband has given her full freedom. And rebellion wasn’t even justified anyway. She had realized Vanraj’s mature and adult like love involved a lot more caring and difficult sacrifice than Sameer’s childish antics or flirtation.

As much as I hate sallu, but that is amazingly silly to say that he broke her bangles, it was an accident, he never hurt her on purpose

I have a lot of problem with HDDCS. The entire film is designed to show that Vanraj was a mahaan and so mature, who sacrificed so much for his love and therefore he is the one who should get the girl.

Sorry but love doesn't work that way. We always don't fall in love with the perfect, most understanding people.

People say Sameer and Nandini only shared attraction and infatuation. Well, most romances start that way and from there blossom into deeper connections. By this logic Vanraj also only fell for Nandini for her looks. If she was a plain jane he wouldn't have given her 2rs bhau. He sees her dancing at a party and decides "Yeah! She is so beautiful. Would be so nice to marry such a babe!" Obviously personality and stuff are an afterthought. Then this creep goes on to be creepy with Nandini in their wedding night and again in the train scene 🤢..

Yeah all the old films we're basically parents good kids bad type of thing 😂😂 don't forget baghban, the immense in your face guilttrip that film was. It was he'll to watch it with parents who'd then look at u n judge for no fault of yours😂 the kids were either as evil as the biological son's or as sanskari as Salman who had parents photo with God's 🤣

My problem is these father's were never shown as wrong in most films. Even in k3g Amitabh is like soooo controlling of everyone n doesn't even apologize properly at the the end. Or Amitabh in mohabbatein. We already had Desi father figures being ultra strict n mean in most cases irl there was no need for films to glorify it

okk,but he did act like a typical ' nice guy's when he was rejected after the kiss. And also vanraj was pretty weird n shallow too. Whole film was basically love marriage sucks arrange marriage yaay yaay listen to your parents even if they're misogynistic yaaayyy n oh yeah we can't write a proper healthy romance

Why Athiya’s career ended up so badly?

Yes, she is not good actress but so is Jhanvi, Ananya, Sara and many other nepo kids. Even there are many outsiders that are not good at acting...
