Bharat Has Good Advance

Bharat has taken a good advance but its not a killer advance. The film will be up there among top advances of Hindi films released in terms of collections. But the numbers of Bahubali - The Conclusion advance are miles ahead and Avengers - Endgame is light years ahead.

The biggest Hindi film advance in terms of collections till date is Thugs of Hindostan which had that the biggest day for collections on day one and a high level of advance in mass markets due. The advance for Bharat is not far off the level of Thugs Of Hindostan after two days of advance opening but in terms of tickets sold. The NETT figures are also not that far off thanks to the lower GST rates but the GROSS numbers are a good 20-25% down as Bharat has lower ticket pricing on average as compared to Thugs Of Hindostan.

The advance ATP (Average Ticket Price) is around 8-10% lower than Thugs of Hindostan but lower GST will cover for that in terms of NETT collections. Sultan was released three years back and was also a Wednesday release and its pretty certain that Bharat is not going the sell the same number of tickets in advance as that film. If had done so it would have been an excellent result for the film but here it is looking to get better collections than Sultan thanks to Entertainment Tax changing to GST and then a GST rate going down also.

If comparing to the Hindi films this year then its one horse race as it has already gone past the figures of Kalank in just two days of the advance opening but Bharat is not really competing with these films as it is far bigger. Overall a good advance but probably not as big as the biggest Hindi film of the year should be getting. But maybe it could be said this is the level of the bigger Hindi films at present.
