The movie has tons of old Bollywood songs tied to certain situations, so Bollywood will indirectly be discussed.

I

Spoilers.

I agree about the feudal mindset and even I was taken aback by how easily the Father started explaining about the totally normal life that Romeo now lived and it was his own offer. He offered and they accepted. So simple. The old man's conversation with his wife 'Jo karna tha, woh kiya' and his wife's 'Galat kiya' comes to mind.

Frankly, I really would have loved to see the reaction of the kid's family after discovering the truth from Zara which was unfortunately left to our imagination.

Also, I thought by the end of the film Zareen character would surely have left for Paris, however the film decided to give us a pinch of reality by showcasing how not all dreams come true. Some have to let go of them. (I hope I got the end right as I am little confused by what happens to Zareen. This is how I interpreted it.)

Why is everyone suddenly obsessed with the title Cake?

I think Esha Deol had a film called Cake and so did Jen Aniston. There's a Paki film by this name? Whom does it star?

Sanam Saeed and Amina Sheikh as sisters. The supporting cast is quite stellar too in their performances.

Watched the trailer. Reminds me of this great Israeli film called 'The Cakemaker'.

I've never watched a Pakistani film before, but this seems like a good entry point.

I have watched just two. Cake and Fawad's Behad which was a lovely telefilm. I loved Cake more though.

Oh! I liked Sanam in 'Zindagi Gulzar' and I have seen Amina's show 'Maat'. M sure they have done a good job.

Isn't it similar to Kapoor and Sons

They have done an amazing job. Especially Amina as her character has a lot going on inside.

Yes, to an extent. However, the underlying theme in Cake is a lot darker than the extramarital affair of the Father in Kapoor and sons.

I liked the older sister. The actress who played the younger sister did not measure up to the other actress. I am not sure what role the brother had- He added nothing to the script or plot. Not sure why he was there.

Also, I wish they had explored the servant/help's story a bit more. He was very unidimensional.
