In these 55 episodes of YRHPK, there have been many significant tropes that define Mishbir. We all love those dialogues/scenes since they add value to the characterisation of the show. Here, I list down a few:

1) The dialogues that Mishti and Abir use only for each other and no one else.

  • Mishti's "Tum ____ ho? ____ ho? ____ ho? Toh phir ____ kyun nahi karte?" This one is absolutely my favourite. One can see that Mishti has been using this style of questioning since the beginning of the show right when she met Abir at the Holi party. She never questions anyone in her family/Rajvansh family in this fashion except for Abir. Whether the moments are serious, embarrassing or funny, she still recites these questions as if they are a part of her and Abir's relationship.
  • Mishti-Abir's "Suno". Inspired by Aashiqui 2, this very style of the ML nudging the FL from behind, just when she is about to leave, catches the essence of Mishbir connection. Initially, it was Abir who would call Mishti 'Suno' twice, followed by 'Kuch nahi' the third time. In the initial episodes, Mishti and Abir's relation was very much that of a friendly tease. They would argue over things and Mishti would get a bit annoyed with Abir's way of thinking and behaviour. Whenever Abir would use the 'Suno' phrase to bid her adieu, she would get annoyed by it so much that once she snapped at Kunal assuming he would do the same (the scene after paragliding). However, as Mishti and Abir's relation took a deeper turn, Mishti's annoyance with Abir got covered by her trust and respect for him. Similarly, one could see how the 'Suno' phrase which was initially used by Abir, started to be used by Mishti. In the recent balcony scene, one could see that Mishti was desperately trying to hold Abir back with 'Suno', as if her heart knew he was leaving her and going faraway. Her instant urge to stop Abir and make him stay, even without knowing why she wanted to do so, indicates how much their relationship has grown in these 55 episodes.

2) Another recurring motif is that of Mishti and Abir stealing each other's belongings. Even though, it initially started with Mishti being caught by Abir stealing money from Naman, their klepto maniac tendency is a recurring one. From Abir stealing Mishti's earrings in the initial episodes to Mishti trying to unlock Abir's cycle, they definitely fit in as the 'klepto maniac' couple. The term ' Angry Chorni' that Abir so notoriously uses for Mishti indirectly fits him as well since he is the one who steals Mishti's belongings to keep his heart satisfied. In this series of stealing each other's belongings, these two never realised that they ended up stealing each other's hearts. No wonder the song itself has the line 'Dheere Dheere Se Mere Dil Ko Churana' (wink, wink).

3) Their connection through inanimate objects. Since day 1, they have been connected to each other by objects that define the progression of their bond.

  • A significant one in this list is that of the balloons. When Mishti had lost hold of those red balloons after buying them from the little girl on the street, they ended up in Abir's hands. Later, when Abir handed them to her during his visit at the Maheshwari Sadan, her anger towards the happenings of the 'Rishta fixing' day made her drop those balloons out of the window. However, surprisingly, they ended up flying towards the Rajvansh house with Abir finding them in his courtyard. Again, when Ketki's wedding gets called off, Mishti, who is perceived as practical, ends up doing something silly. Being aware of the silliness of the assumption that those balloons would reach Abir, she still believes that God would make her wishes come true. Isn't that what love does to you? Love makes you do things that are stupid/make no sense. And that's exactly what Mishti did for her love for Abir.
  • In the recent story of Mishti's spectacles, one would observe that her spectacles often ended up being in Abir's care. After the fire incident, her glasses broke. Since then, whenever her spectacles would fall out from her face, Abir would always be there to grab hold of them. It just symbolises how messed up Mishti's life is and how Abir's presence in her life is to sort out her troubles.

The story of Mishti and Abir till now has been portrayed through various relevant tropes. These very tropes are now so authentic to Mishbir that they have become very dear to its fandom and audiences. Please feel free to add on more if I forgot any. I would love to discuss and analyse more of these tropes in details.

Thank you! Hopefully it should get over by next week. Shaheer's Instagram post of Rhea and him sitting on a bench in between the greenery with an attire different from their usuals indicates that a new plotline may start soon!

Ikr! It's been presented in a beautiful way. Even I have been liking it so far. Although it's a bit slow, I feel the slow build up of their story is equally important to concept of the show.

Beautiful post

Can I add one more thing they are kindred spirits. They talk to each other, listen to each other. Most importantly the understanding level is definitely on the soulmate level.

Abir gifting her new spectacles and Mishti entering room full of fire to save Abir's painting( No one actually asked the other to do that)
