Finally managed to watch the roundtable. It was not that bad as it was made out to be.😆
Yes, Anushka and Alia interrupted the others while putting across their points but otherwise it was nice to see DP, Anu and Tabu speak their POVs.

DP is very calm and poised, such a nice quality to have.

Taapse was so off putting for some reason. IDK if its the way she spoke or what but i totally disliked her attitude during the entire interview.

What i also liked is DP, Anu and Alia being nice and cordial towards each other. There was a good vibe basically.

Tabu should have spoken more however Alia kept interrupting.

Rani - the less said the better. Firstly that obnoxious yellow shades and secondly her attitude which was annoying AF. I hated the way she replied to Anushka for disagreeing to one of her points. Like does she not have manners?
And her comments on me too - I cant even! The woman is pure crass.

What did Rani say to Anushka? I kind of brushed through that whole disagreement part.

Victim blaming, expecting the victim to take action, questioning why a victim did or did not do something is all this person talked about. Never about how a perpetrator should not have been enabled in the first place.
I don't think I want to talk to someone with such an insensitive attitude towards sexual harassment.

I'm glad you did not reply. Because I would have given no importance of what 'you' think of me. It doesn't matter. You don't matter to me. 😳

If you have anything valuable to add than pinpointing or indirect naming, then say. Or else your views would have not made any sense like your previous reply.

If you are talking so much about what a perpetrator should not have been enabled to do crime, then why don't you suggest the ways it can happen. Instead of criticizing my views, why don't you focus your energy on this? Oh and yes, write "shame on the perpetrater" as well in the capitals. That will definitely define yourself. 😛

I understand and agree with you. My intention was not to blame victims... I wanted to say they can be more careful or in general people can be more careful towards themselves when suchbsituasuch comes. Of course forming strict laws and having tight security like CCTV camera everywhere can help a lot to reduce these cases. But also learning self defense techniques will help as well. 😊

Personally, I do think speaking then and there would be of utmost help... because coming up with story after years doesn't sound that legit to me.(in context to not all stories are true) No offense.

@Dev, not everyone has the courage to do so ie speak up right there n then. Tanushree did speak about the sexual harrassment then n there when it happened but wasn't heard. Now when she spoke about it, and in the wake of the ongoing movement, she inspired many others to come out with their own story. I cannot believe u choose to question the women on why they kept quiet then? It doesn't make sense at all n its insensitive.

I completely agree that women should be made self sufficient to deal with such situations but until we as a society don't work towards it, nothing will change. Until reforms are actively instituted in various places, how do u expect women to defend themselves..its not about just martial arts, its about entire personality building so that we are not rendered weak, at least in case of the older women who get harrassed at workplace.
Blaming women for not coming out with their story then n there is not right especially because of all the victim shaming that goes on in our society. Tab bola ho ya ab, they need to be heard and those who have committed such crimes need to be punished. There is absolutely no two ways about it.

Rani n u are doing the same thing-blaming the victim and putting responsibility on the victim for the sexual assault. If she cannot defend herself, it doesn't mean she is to be blamed. She should learn to defend herself, for her own safety but if she can't or if she didn't, then we as a society should atleast be a bit sensitive to her story and not brush it as weakness on her part. This is a major part of the problem.

Stop blaming the victim for something that happened to him or her against their will. They did not choose this.

Hey
My intention was not to blame the victim. All I was saying was to report the issue then and there itself instead of waiting to come up after Years.

I completely understand you here. Tanushree must have done so, but at least she made people aware of it and even though she wasn't heard but the criminal must have become aware about it. He or she would think thirce now before any such heinous act.

I'm glad Tanushree's story was well received and heard after years. I hope she got justice as well.

I questioned because I think speaking then and there could be helpful. But of there is a fear of being unheard then what you're saying also makes sense. 😊

But this keeping quiet for years just doesn't sound right to me. Because people may question it's authencicity as well, if it's without any proof. If some cases are wrong, then this can also give a way to take revenge from others. Not all cases can be legit.

Yes society needs to work. What we all can do is make strict laws, tight security etc etc. But learning self defense will only help.

Of course justice needs to be served. I'm all for it. India need to be strict with it's rules and regulations.

Maybe Rani's views are misunderstood. But I did not wanted to blame victims and it was never my intention. Of course we as a society need to understand victims. Not only her, but him too. I'm definitely sure this has happened with men as well as women.

Yes they did not choose this. But they did choose to keep quiet under whatsoever circumstances. This doesn't look right to me, personally. I mean I would want a victim to speak then and there itself.

I hope my views are understood.😊

This felt like one of those fish market GDs we give for college admissions😆 DP was the most eloquent of the lot and Rani was just abominable right from those silly yellow glasses to the nonsense she spouted especially with regards to #MeToo.🥱 Alia and Rani kept trying to interrupt like one of those people who don't have any relevant points but just want their voices to be heard 😆 Alia of course was the better of the two. Anushka was trying a little too hard and Tabu IMO would have had more to add but she was just over all this though whatever she spoke, she was just a pleasure to listen to. Taapsee's demeanor was that she's come to prove a point..and their telling expressions was a hoot 😆
