Second Part - Risha [Page 5]
Last Part - Anya [below]
It so happened that Gauri have went to the kitchen dreamily just because the Aroma of the delicious Kheer - that her Annika Bhaujai had perfected in this three years of her marriage just because It was Shivaay's favourite sweet dish - was something she couldn't resist. She was talking to her client passing through the kitchen and her feet already had taken the route towards that dish. The moment she let the warm rice pass to her throat she just wanted to go and hug Annika as tightly as she could because she always wonder how this sweet dish get more sweeter every other time.
Keeping the glass bowl over the kitchen counter, she had made her way towards their room, mouth still filled with that sweet dish, she was going to knock at the door, when crashing sound of the mirror made her gulp hard, she was going to get into violent coughing when again those sounds started getting more prominent.
Something had terribly happened here!!
Opening the door a little ajar, she peeked inside to see that the whole room which had been the most tidy room in this whole mansion was now in a mess, she saw shivaay grabbing the sheets of his bed and throwing it at some corner of the room, annika wasn't there, which means that both of them have been in a fight. worst fight.
She had been noticing them since last three months, how Annika is just too quite unusual of her daily chirpy aura while Shivaay always seems to be in a trauma, she even had a conversation with Omkara about this matter but he just asked her not to worry much, they'll be fine. But even if he said those things, he, himself wasn't sure.
Soon was lost the thought of meeting annika and she had called Omkara to come and talk to Shivaay because she knew he is the only one who could calm him down other then Annika itself.
Omkara has been out for some work but the minute he stepped inside the mansion he had straightaway walked the path to Shivaay's room, he was getting the feeling that the difference which they were able to see between the couple from the past few months had already got it's way out today.
As he entered the poolside just because he know the front side will be a mess, he stopped in his tracks as he saw a reluctant Annika trying to pacify an already broken Shivaay who was in tears until now. Omkara was shocked will be an understatement, a broken Shivaay was something he never dreamt of so crying was something more then that. He knew it's bad habit eavesdropping but his instinct were something he couldn't refuse to, he wanted to know what really happened to his brother- who had been a rock in front of them all his life - is now a melted piece of iron.
And whatever he heard made his heart leap to his mouth, he knew what actually Name, blood and lineage meant to shivaay, even if shivaay had get over it, but there's still some traces of those principles running in his veins but it can be like he is wrong, he is going to the wrong way. and finally when he heard why he did this made him smile softly with a hint of pride shinning in his eyes, for his brother who never seems to wriggle from his SSO mode, there's a reason why he is called the Great Wall of Shivaay Singh Oberoi.
"Shivaay" Omkara called out, now a little softly, he moved towards him while annika moved a step back, she knew these two brothers need to have a talk, "I'm sorry, I know it's a bad habit eavesdropping but I just can't stop myself to know why Shivaay was crying" he was apologetic.
Annika just nodded being understandable, she was too shocked to see Shivaay like this so expecting this from Omkara wasn't a big deal, she also knew that what these brothers are meant to each other, maybe if Omkara will make him understand the situation he will listen to her.
Shivaay on the other hand felt like a slap have been placed on his cheeks without of him being at fault, his mind was haywire, he don't know what really happened just now, staring blankly at Omkara, he kept quite. The anger which soared up his sleeves suddenly turned into Cold War inside himself.
Omkara looked straight into his elder brother's dull blue eyes and knew this is one such moment where Shivaay needed his closed ones the most, grabbing his shoulder, he squeezed it lightly, trying to give him some strength, "Shivaay we need to tell this to the family" he started with the most calmer voice he could ever utter, as if trying to handle a stubborn child who is crying continuously for not having his favourite toy, "Are you listening me?"
Shivaay as if have slipped to reality and blinked. Once. Twice. Thrice and soon he was backing away from him like a deadly plague. "No this is not gonna happen. No."
Annika moved ahead to hold onto Shivaay, his stretched out hand was something which halted her in her steps. "Om, I beg you, Please don't ask me to do that" for the first time ever in his life, Omkara saw a different aspect of his brother, he behaved like a scared child being haunted by the scary creatures which enter his dreams at night. "Shivaay you need to calm down. Try to understand what Omkara is trying to say to you" annika said worried.
"Stop it, Annika, I don't want to hear anyone of you. Neither you. Nor Omkara" shivaay screamed angrily making annika gulp at the intensity as her eyes yet again weld up with tears making Shivaay situation worse, he cursed himself for being not able to control his anger yet again and hurting her for no reason.
Shaking his head, he apologised to her and tried to make her understand this is not gonna help but Both of the other person present there were reluctant. "Shivaay you know we can't hide the truth for long. It will come out one day. So why not now? Why not you yourself tell them" Omkara spoke making Shivaay sigh a little, he knew he was right, but how will he able to meet their gaze when the truth will come out? How will he just say that he is not capable of producing a child?
"Shivaay, we all are here with you. Please give us an opportunity to be your support this time at least" Annika begged while omkara's eyes conveyed the same.
"I know, but please not now. This is not the right time"
"So when this right time will come, Shivaay?" Omkara asked sharply.
"I don't know" he whispered as he sat on the bed, his hands holding his head as he tried to calm himself, "I just don't"
Annika hesitated a bit but later sat beside him keeping her hand over his shoulder and so did Omkara from the other side, "Okay, So you don't want disclose this matter to our family then it's fine. At least let's us go with the other procedures that Dr.Sinha had given you in the NDA" Omkara tried to push him further for the last time, "Yes Shivaay, she is really a trustworthy doctor. Please give us a chance" annika persuaded.
"You never loose hope. Shivaay Singh Oberoi is not that weak that he will gave up this early. Shivaay are you listening me?" Omkara held his face and make him stare back at him straight, the pleading in his eyes was something which triggered something within him. Maybe he should listen to them. But again the thought of Annika being accused for nothing if the news will come out is devastating, and he doesn't want this in his wildest dream.
She saw fear engulfing his startling blue eyes and she knew he was still unsure, "If you don't want me to loose the right of being a mother then, please" she said and he felt that those fears were nothing in front of his wife's happiness, the little bit of insecurity have fled out of the window and what was left was the determination of going through this storm even if it is way much difficult, he will not loose hope.
Taking a deep breath he looked at both of them and sighing he nodded his head desperately, "Okay! I will try, but if this news will come in the open then trust me I will sue that doctor and make sure she will curse herself why she even become a doctor" he gritted his teeth at last making Annika and Omkara give each other a knowing look, a small smile playing at the curve of their lips.
Shivaay paced the length of the cabin worriedly while Annika sat on the chair, chewing on her long nails, her legs shaking on their own in worry while Omkara sat beside her with a worried look.
"I'm really scared" Annika muttered to no one in particular. Omkara held her hand which rested on the handle in between them and squeezed it lightly while Shivaay just spared a glance on her worriedly, he was much more occupied in his own misery that consoling her will make the situation worst.
Silence prevailed the whole room for a few minutes when the door opened and their stood Dr. Sinha who had become the centre of attention right at the moment she stepped inside the cabin, Annika stood up, went and intertwined her fingers tightly in Shivaay who was looking as if he'll take a breath then he'll pass out. Omkara too stood up and looked at the doctor who was having an expression which was hard to understand.
Holding the file tightly in her little wrinkled hands, the old lady tried to escape those hopeful eyes as she moved towards the table to sit, Annika lifted her head a little and gazed at her husband who was still like a pole. Tightening the hold she closed her eyes and hope for the best.
It's been a month that Shivaay was under the best doctor for his treatment, although the procedure promised only 80 percent chances for the improvement they still tried this, Being a business man Shivaay always invest in project that promises hundred percent progress but for the first time for the sake of his wife he went for this, he only know how much faith she held in this, more then him she seems to be stressed and he just can't make her regret that they never tried even once.
"Doctor, could you please end this suspense and tell us what's there in the reports?" Omkara voices out, breaking the silence as he saw both his brother and sister in law mute because of the fear of knowing the truth.
Taking a deep breath the middle age lady spoke out the truth because she knew the consequences of beating the bush, "I'm really Sorry, Mr. Oberoi but the reports are not positive. As I have said before, anything can happen - -" until now, Shivaay have already stormed out of the room in steady steps while Annika was fast enough to follow him. Omkara just stayed there as he knew his brother needed some alone time while Annika is being with him then he will be alright.
Khanna stood, an umbrella in one hand as it had suddenly started raining heavily while the other held the door of the car wide open for Shivaay to step in but Shivaay just asked for the car keys, letting the water touch his burning heart he went behind the wheels and drove off not at all caring about the cries of Annika who was trying to stop him. He just wanted to be alone for once. He just can't see defeat in her eyes and pity for him. He had already lost the hope of any improvement because he knew there was no scope in it but still just for her, for them he accepted this but everything went to dirt.
Accelerating the engine as fast as he could, he looked ahead of the road as it become more hazy. She deserved more, she deserve the right to experience the month of motherhood, to know what it feels when there is a life growing in her womb, to experience the bliss of holding her child in her arms after going through a lot of pain. He snatched all that from her. Tears flow out of his eyes effortlessly and he didn't care. He just drove where ever his troubled mind took him too.
Annika sat at the back of the car as Khanna drove her to the way Shivaay sped off, he knew whatever came in the reports were not good and he really felt sad for his boss as well as his wife. Being employed by Shivaay for more than a decade now he know Shivaay was a cruel businessman from outside but at the same point he was a kind hearted person. He know how many difficulties he had gone through and have faith in him that he will go through this too Beside Annika is being with him.
"Khanna ji, please do it fast, we need to find Shivaay. He had sped off. In this weather. I hope he is fine" Annika muttered under her breath scared to death as she looked outside her window to see the hazy lanes as they drove off on the now empty road.
"Sir will be fine ma'am" Khanna could utter this much only.
Khanna hit the brakes being petrified as Annika ordered him to stop and without wasting a second she was out of the car and moving to the black sleek car which seemed to be smashed against the tall tree making her heart stop at the bad thoughts passing her mind. She looked around to see not a single soul present nearby. The world was at the verge of slipping into the darkest of night as she chased towards the car, her shivering form drenched by the shower of raindrops.
Khanna was in toe, drenched and with a single glance he knew it belonged to Shivaay. Stopping annika he moved towards the driver seat to discover no one in particular, the air bags have been left open. "Ma'am Shivaay Sir is not here" he whispered while Annika was fast enough to trail the path towards her man much before, he isn't the only one who could sense her, she too had mastered in this trick. Eyes spilling out tears of sadness, her legs moved on their own accords.
Shivaay stood near the small pond or more precisely the beautifully devastated lake where he used to come often when he was in his teenage, he had totally forgotten about this place due to his responsibilities but today when he mistakenly smashed the car on the tall tree because of the slippery road, he realised he ended up being in the place where he always find solace in his early days and paced towards it hoping to find the same solace today as well.
The droplets fell on the surface of the lake creating a number of ripples as Annika stood behind Shivaay who had already sensed her. His dropped shoulder showed how much devastated he is, Keeping her hand over his shoulder she gave a squeeze.
"Shivaay" she whispered in the rain.
"Please leave. I need sometime alone"
"No. Not again"
"I have told you. This isn't going to get better"
"But we tried, we didn't gave up"
"Yes, we tried. But I failed"
"No you ain't. You can never be"
"No I have. I have taken away your happiness from you once again"
"You can never take away my happiness"
"But I did, even if it wasn't intentionally, still I did" His voice was hoarse and muffled as he let his tears mix with the raindrops easily, "I'll say it again, you don't deserve me. You deserve better"
Now moving in front of him, she stood on her toes and kissed his tearful eyes, "then I'll say it again too, no one could have been better then you"
"Shivaay, I have told you earlier, if this is not going to work out then we'll adopt a child, haven't I?" She asked holding his face in her palm making him look at her straight, he just nodded not at all in a state to say anything, "we'll do this, we will adopt a child and I think maybe I can help someone just like Sahil parents helped me? Maybe we can make someone's life colourful and happy and I know our family will surely understand it. They will not leave their Shivaay like this, they will stood by you through the thick the thin"
"Are you listening to me Shivaay?" She caressed his cheeks as he let her words sink to his messed up system only to come to the conclusion that maybe she is right. Maybe he could help someone from all the cruel thing his Annika had to go when she was an Orphan? But what about the society?
Seeing the hesitation in his eyes she smiled a bit, "if changing someone's life cost me to hear bad things from others. I will and I will not give a damn to it"
He felt a little relieved, "trust me shivaay, we can do this. No. we will do this! Right Shivaay?" She encouraged him while he smiled for the first time today as the faith with which she asked him gave him the that piece of mind which he had lost somewhere he never knew. Yes it will be a difficult path for both of them but they will be with each other and nothing matters.
"Yes" He held her hand and brought it to his lips, "I promise" he assured.
