Aaah...good old days! Beautiful memories of childhood spent sitting and chatting in the veranda overlooking people on the street. Life was so simple then.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I can completely understand your parent's reaction. My mom had 2 sisters. One of them lost her teenage son in a road accident many years back. She was a completely different person since then. It was like she was just breathing and surviving somehow. Something snapped inside her.

I lost my mom a couple of months back. My mom and her sister ( another one) were very close and lived in the same house. They were literally like soul mates. My aunt, who was a year older, fought with my grandparents to repeat Kindergarten again, just so she could be with my mom in her class. They've been together since then. Through marriages, children, old age, they've been through it all together. Since my mom's passing, my aunt has become miserable. She is literally waiting for death to come. She doesn't want to live anymore. No matter what we do or say, nothing matters. She nods her head in agreement to what we say and appears as if she concurs with our thoughts about her moving on, but she's unable to do so. Really don't know how to help her.

sorry to hear abt ur mom.may her soul rest in peace.
i can't imagine what i will be doing without mines.
it must be extremely difficult for u.i can understand ur aunt.when the person u love
so dearly becomes permanently unreachable something just breaks.time fails to heal
when bonds are so strong.ya i too feel death is a dear friend.it relieves us from painful
memories.bt when u want it it usually does not come.so u have to grind on in life.
how is ur father doing?n what abt u?do take care.

Thank you. My mom is surely in a better place now. She was suffering quite a bit. One of those tough moments in your life when you feel it is better for the person to pass away than continue to live and suffer. My dad passed away many years ago.
As for me, am doing well. I've kind of become immune to death. In the past few years, I saw my daughter come close to death twice (medical terms - coded twice). She is an ill child and still has the same risk of dying as earlier. So yeah, I don't fear death anymore. What bothers me more is to see your loved ones suffer. I think my daughter helped and prepared me to cope with my mom's death.
