Part 1-

"Excuse me ma'am you cant go in there" ordered the tall, burly security guard

The woman raised her foot, kicking the guard in the shin and then ran past him

She ran fast, her calves burning from the pressure, she nearly knocked into a wall, and swerved past it quickly

Her bottle of alcohol still in her hands, the remainder of the drink sloshing around and falling on the floor

"Hey, you come back here" the guard shouted, chasing her

She looked back and carried on running, bursting through the doors she looked at the radio jockey

"You're Neil Khanna right, the man that speaks so good of love" she shouted, exasperated

Neil stood up "Yes, and who might you be"

"Avni Ayesha, and im here to tell you that everything you claim love to be is a lie"

She threw the bottle at Neil, narrowly missing his head then passed out into the guards arms

It was a few hours later when Avni awoke, her head was spinning, she looked up as she sat forward

"Where am I" she muttered

Neil stepped forward, looking at her as if he could see righ through her

Avni held her head, groaning "What, do you not talk"

He smirked "I like to keep my voice good for when I speak on the radio"

Avni raised her hand "Please, dont give me one of your love talks, I dont think my head could take it"

Neil chuckled, running his hand down his face "Your head, or your heart"

She grimaced, looking away "both" she gulped

Neil sat on the chair infront of the bed "Who broke your heart Avni"

Avni closed her eyes, a lone tear made its way down her face ever so slowly

She sighed breathily and remembered that fateful day

Neil raised his brow "So, who broke it"

Avni bit into her bottom lip "My fiancee, Shaurya, he cheated on me"

Neil stood up and walked closer to her, tipping her chin up "And that makes you think love is a lie"

He raised his thumb, swiping away her tears as she nodded

"Love isnt a lie when its with the right person"

She cleared her throat and stood up slowly

"There is no right person out there"

Neil raised his brow "I disagree, give me a month, let me prove to you that love exists"

"Why do you want to help me" Avni wondered

"Because in a world that cant promise us anything, love is the only thing that makes living worthwhile, everyone should feel it at some point"

She was aware she had nothing to lose

"How will you prove that love exists"

Neil smirked jovially

"30 days, I will make you fall in love with me"

Avni released a laugh from the side of her mouth "And if you dont succeed"

"Then you win"

"What do I get if I win" she asked

"Ill admit on live radio that love is a lie"

Avni nodded "And what do you get if you win"

"You come on my radio and explain that love exists even when you dont feel it does, tell our story to all my listeners"

Avni squinted at him "You have got to be kidding"

Neil outstretched his hand "I am never wrong Avni and I never kid about things like this"

Avni spat on her hand and then shook his, failing to hide the smile on her face at his expression of disgust

Neil pulled his hand away quickly, wiping it down his trouser leg

"So, tomorrow we start"

Avni nodded, she couldnt wait to prove this egotistical man wrong, after her experience with love, she would never lose her heart again

Avni waited at the cold park, she rubbed her hands up her arms trying to warm herself up

She closed her eyes, blowing hot air into her hands and when she opened them again she looked up to see Neil stood before her

"Finally decided to turn up then" she muttered, annoyed

Neil looked down at his watch "Actually, I am not late"

Avni looked at her watch "You got her at 09:02 am, we agreed to meet at 09am, I dont like people who waste my time"

Neil dug his hands into his pockets "So, you like to focus on semantics huh, well ill make sure to never be late again, jaan" his eyes lit up mischeviously

Avni scowled "Dont call me that again"

Neil stepped forward "Why, what ya gonna do"

Avni stepped forward "Break your heart"

Neil laughed "Good luck with that one"

Avni rolled her eyes "Its freezing, where do you want to take me"

Neil smiled, taking her hand he put his fingers through hers

"Our first date of course"

Avni tried to tug her hand back, but failed so dragged her feet instead, trying to slow him down

Neil stopped "Fine, if you want to do this the hard way"

Before Avni could reply, Neil picked her up and began walking away

"Hey, put me down" she squealed

Neil shrugged "No can do jaan"

Avni smiled sweetly at him, then put her finger in her mouth and fake choked making Neil laugh even more

But neither knew what 30 days could do to strangers and none of them would be prepared for what was to become of them

"Urgh I hate you" Avni screamed, Neil's jaw dropped, he raised a hand to his heart "What, me, na, you can't hate me"
"Oh yeah, watch me" she went to turn around when he grabbed her wrist "As good as you look walking away from me, i'm afraid I prefer the view of you stood right infront of me"
Avni's eyes glistened with rage "I dont know who you think you are"
He smirked "The future love of your life"

"Shut up, you're"
"Hot" he interrupted
"No, disgusting"
"Disgustingly sexy"
She lifted her hands like she was strangling something "You are so self absorbed"
"Yeah" he chuckled "Yeah thats true, anyway onto our first date, we're going to sit on this lovely field and talk"
"Talk about what" she rolled her eyes
"Us"

"There is no us"
"There will be" he winked
Avni sat down huffing, she looked over at Neil who sat close to her, leaning back on his hand he wrapped an arm around her shoulders
"Get. Off. Of. Me" she gritted her teeth
Neil moved slightly closer "No, im good here"
Avni jumped as her phone rang in her pocket, she looked down at Shaurya's number, she gulped and answered it, standing up

"What do you want" Avni clenched her fist
"I just want to talk to you, you have to understand, I am a man, I have needs and you refused to give me what I wanted" he spoke
Avni closed her eyes almost painfully, the playful look on Neil's face disappearing as Avni wiped away a tear, Neil grabbed the phone
"She may have refused to give up anything to you, but Avni and I are having the time of our lives, you really lost a good one here and oh let me tell you how amazing she is in bed"

Neil chuckled at the dial tone as Shaurya cut off, Avni scowled, her cheeks a dark red "How dare you"
Neil looked shocked "I just helped you, why are you angry"
"Because you idiot, now he thinks ive just moved on"
"And what, you'd rather he thought you were pinning for him and crying"
"You had no right to speak to him about any of this Neil, you had no right to make him think I was having sex with you"

Neil slapped his head angrily "You are so ungreatful, so blind in your love for the man who cheated on you, you know, actually I dont blame him, if you weren't so uptight about everything, maybe he wouldnt have"
Avni swallowed painfully, her eyes teary as she shook her head "I wasnt like that with him, I was"
Neil put his hand up, stopping her mid-sentence

"You know what Avni, him cheating on you was probably a good thing, you dont have any emotions, and the poor guy was probably craving for your attention and if you weren't such a controlling, moody woman, and you learnt how to let go then maybe he wouldnt have cheated if you weren't frigid"
Avni raised her hand, slapping him across the face

"I loved him, I loved him with everything I had, I wanted our wedding day to be special so I wanted to wait, if thats all men like you see women as, just an object to satisfy your needs then you're wrong, I let him do what he pleased, but no you wouldnt understand that, you sicken me"
She span on her heel and stormed off, the grief stricken look on her face left Neil reeling with guilt

"Avni, Avni wait" Neil called, chasing her across the field
She turned around "Wait for what, for you to insult me again, go on, tell me how I should have just let him have sex with me"
"No, look, I didnt mean what I said and its your body, your choice, I was just angry because you're so hard to understand, what I said wasn't okay and I know that, im sorry"
Her face crumpled "I thought what we had would mean more than sex, yet, here I am, broken hearted and he's just out there, living life to the full and I loved him, but he never loved me" she whispered harshly

Neil pulled her into a hug, she tried to push him away but he just held on
His voice softer this time, "so let me prove love exists, lets prove to him you dont need him, allow me to show you what love is"
She laughed, wiping away her tears "Just dont go falling in love with me"
"I wouldnt dream of it" he smiled

But neither of them knew, that the only thing to fix a broken heart was love, can Avni and Neil fake feelings forever or will they become real!
