All the people talking about reservation, let me ask you one thing-where is this outrage when it comes to caste-based discrimination? Have you ever asked your Dalit/other friends what it feels like? What they experience?

Why shouldn't Dalit activists be able to talk about merit? Many of them come from highly disadvantaged backgrounds and don't have access to the same advantages an upper caste person does. People are so irate that a minority of seats get allotted to disadvantaged people. The little progress that has happened when it comes to uplifting the backward classes is because of this. Like do you own those seats or what?

Despite reservation being so 'oppressive' as is claimed, all the positions of power in society are still mostly occupied by upper caste persons. Just because you aren't exposed to caste-based discrimination doesn't mean it doesn't exist. There is still extreme social bias against those from the wrong caste. Why talk about Hindu unity when people don't wanna acknowledge the extreme discrimination that takes place within our homes, in our schools, in our temples?
