Not exactly...
I can live without Coffee it's not addiction

I love coffee when I drink good Coffee I feel so happy so coffee is kind of passion rather than addiction.

But something which is very important in your daily chores is an addiction not habit..

Agree, tea & coffee is a part of social glue, but both Tea & coffee both contains 'caffeine" the only drug present naturally or consumed as food ( science says that ).

talking superficially, people do have withdrawal system depending upon how much amount of caffeine people consume but can't deny its natural addictive nature.
euphoric( feel good ) feeling what you get after drinking tea & coffee is from drugs..that is caffeine.
habit does not cause euphoria...just a daily repetitive behavior could be a survival tool.
Honestly, I LOVE TEA..😉

thank u...finally somebody said it...
agree with u...
addiction and habit are different and there are also good and bad habits..though drinking tea is a not a big issue the so-called padi likkhi kanak rathi don't even know scientifically tea is a stimulant cum depressant that comes under drugs and it contains caffeine...uma,the ved could have easily counter argued her but nowadays he has given up..he looks like making sense to an immature is the stupidest thing he can engage into..
maasisa's reply was the right one that when kanak can justify drinking chai by comparing it with taking care of a bedridden, reading religious texts, reading kanha's book the same can be applied for beedi/cigarette also...
actually once kanak fulfills her zidd of 'mission chai' at sometime she herself can give up on chai and have kaada after all having a herbal drink at empty stomach in the morning is not a bad choice when today's youth themselves moving towards such healthy practices cvs shouldn't be discouraging it...

Honestly, such a brainless argument . uma's silence itself says that..even cvs do not agree with that example or argument.😆 but why can't they bring some sense to kanak character....

In fact, maasi is thinking in rite direction because beedi, cigar, maravan all are nasha product but,
discussing or using kids in such nasha plots gives me chills. this is so wrong..😭.

Though, drinking kaada or tea is by their choice, but their effect /benefit on health are so different.i agree with you & also good example for habit (drinking kaada ) vs tea ( addiction). In today's episodes I Felt like..she was promoting/selling/ marketing/making add for tea products😆

rightly said??? i was looking for words , you wrote it... i too felt how can anyone equate reading books with drinking tea...
They could have shown Kanak reading or writing or singing and her inlaws object it , then she can argue with that...
I understand her point of Kanak being Kanak . She does nt want to change her identity. She also has used calm and sensible manner and points to prove her. But tea drinking or denial of it will not change anyone's identity in fact it will only affect your health.

Mixing up things like habit & addiction is total insane and using wrong example is like icing on the cake.
you brought up "identity" topic. For sure.. drives me to asylum😛 one day..no doubt about it.😆
your so rite..!!!..what identity has to do with drinking tea? habit/ addiction keeps changing..
I could only say by inference.. her identity 😆 is 'kanak, drinks only tea because drinking tea is her addiction."..😆 more than identity..its tea endrosment. Agree, people fight for space but here, shows her mindset to pick a senseless fight.
so,every simple act we do in day need so much attention so that we can frame it as our identity???? share your thoughts..

I don't think there was anything wrong in her fighting for her cup of tea. The way she did it was kinda not cool. After all our habits make us who we are. Whether it is a good habit or a bad habit or an addiction that's debatable. I think it is more about her being able to do things she likes rather than anything else. I think that was the argument, that other people find happiness with their habits and she should also be allowed to do that. I don't think that's asking too much. ;)

Our relationship with food is much more complex than we think.Everyone can't be vegan or non vegetarian or drink only khada. We all have our prefrences and that should be respected. And everybody's journey is different. And of course what is healthy depends on our beliefs and perception. A friend of mine loves chicken , if I tell him it is not good for him and show him 1000 studies that it is unhealthy , his craving for chicken increases. :)

@Desigal 2017your point ...episode was about .' can she do things in that family what she like usually' ..good point.
Its purely cultur conflict..he drinks kaad and she drinks tea.simple is to 'accept' the way it is.
In case of kanak at this point..she won I or me vs family, but her role is also part of her identity in that family has its own influence on values.now Kanak rathe vs kanak bhinisa . so..can't she do things she like..? with the tea episode. she will lose the battle as kanak bhinisa, because she needs to prove in the family that her addiction is bigger/imp than family culture values,.though she won as kanak rathe.
now, what is important..she has to show us.
just like nocry said..tea has nothing to do with identity...just food choice, preference like u said. yes, collectively habits make us who we are but not all of them require attention to frame. my point, tea is not among them.

Happy to hear your views guys..do correct me if i'm wrong.
