If you cannot live without it; it can become an addiction, like the book. Sara was going through withdrawals searching for it, so much that it stopped her from wanting to do anything else until she had it. I understand using their habits against them, but Kanak is delusional. If you must change so yourself so much to fit, or change their way of thinking to accept her, the home is not for her as Vansh said. This lust she has Uma cannot be termed love; poles apart for sure. I cannot even see how he likes her for her.

To what i know is😉, "substance" causes addiction and withdrawl, such as caffeine in tea/coffee. while, saras was agitated when she didn't find the book, its a behavior than a withdrawal symptoms as there was no substance involved.

you are so true, they both are so different, but there have been a honest effort from uma to save this relation. Good news is ..she has returned to ladnu for him, but got really mixed up with ideology.

Its purely cultur conflict..he drinks kaad and she drinks tea.simple is to 'accept' the way it is.
In case of kanak at this point..she won I or me vs family, but her role is also part of her identity in that family has its own influence on values.now Kanak rathe vs kanak bhinisa . so..can't she do things she like..? with the tea episode. she will lose the battle as kanak bhinisa, because she needs to prove in the family that her addiction is bigger/imp than family culture values,.though she won as kanak rathe.
now, what is important..she has to show us.
just like nocry said..tea has nothing to do with identity...just food choice, preference like u said. yes, collectively habits make us who we are but not all of them require attention to frame. my point, tea is not among them.

Happy to hear your views guys..do correct me if i'm wrong.

Right.. May be tea was not a good example.. I agree with that.. But sometimes it is difficult to accept simple things esp when you are away from your family and adjusting to a new environment.. I think in Sasuraal one usually loses perspective.. And doesn't choose their battles wisely.. :)

1.Yes tea is definitely an addiction
2.But since tea doesn't make one loose its senses,it is not that addictive and if drunk in limited amount is not bad for health(like a cup or two is not bad)
3.And I don't think there was any thing wrong in Kanak fighting for a cup of tea. When a girl comes to her in laws it's a whole new world for her.
4.some habits girl should change according to her in laws but some adjustments the in laws should also make.We can't expect girls to change all her habits.
5.A cup of tea is not an addiction for Kanak. Its her habit. She likes it.
6.But yes way she compared it with books and everything is not right.
7.She should raise the issue of being accepted the way she is rather than confusing habits and addiction.
8.I support Kanak.Kanak is not drinking tea so much that it will affect her health.A person shoul not be bound so much

I dnt know, may be her mindset or rather fixed idea about that family making her to jump to conclusion..:)
