@Bold Can't identify the humor in the thread, sorry. 😕@Red. So we bashed Badri not so long ago in a thread when he put Vaidehi in the trunk of a car. Vaidehi didn't exactly protest, but paid his bail and cooked for him. We bashed Badri for being an MCP and Vaidehi for not protesting loudly. Many of us said how this is not a family film because of it.We bashed the song in Toilet where the Akki character was stalking her. Pretty much the whole forum agrees this is a good film with a social message but many of us condemned the stalking. Who knows if the girl objected, she married him so probably found it romantic. 🤔. Still we condemned it because it was wrong. So in Bahubali, Mahendra disrobes her, molests her, puts "makeup" on her, temporary water proof tattoo on her. But the repeated theme I am seeing in replies is, Avantika did not object, she fell in love or IDK because Mahendra was a hero in a fantasy movie and did help the people injured in the Ballaladeva statue falling incident, saved Devasena, uprooted the Shiva statue for his mom he was somehow heroic and his actions are not chauvinistic ?Badri too did good things, the Akki character in Toilet seems like a good guy too, but we objected when they did chauvinistic things and called those characters out. So why not Mahendra Bahubali ? Chauvinistic actions done by Badri or Bahubali, modern or fantasy are just that. No excuses. Does not matter if the heroine does not object or fell in love. Regressive actions are regressive even though the character has plenty of positives.
Sorry i meant to say that the confusion going on here between Amarendra and Mahendra was funny..
I agree with everything else...i felt that SSR wanted to show something else but ended up executing a cringeworthy scene.. because of that scene, i found even the song 'pachcha bottesi' so creepy.. Mahendra was otherwise ok but his romance with Avantika was too cheesy...
