Is Mrunal Thakur joining Allu Arjun’s AA22xA6? Actor’s comment adds to speculation

Actor Mrunal Thakur has reacted to rumours linking her to AA22xA6, Allu Arjun’s upcoming film with director Atlee. Her name has been trending online, with several reports claiming she has joined the shoot for a key role. The actor addressed the speculation during a recent promotional interaction with the media.

When asked directly about the project, Mrunal responded with humour rather than confirmation. “Oh really, is it happening? With me? Please pray that it happens. If it does, we will celebrate,” she said, a remark that neither confirmed nor denied her involvement and instead fuelled further curiosity among fans online.

AA22xA6 marks the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and Atlee and has been described as one of the most ambitious projects currently in production. Industry chatter suggests the film may be split into two parts due to its scale, though the makers have not issued any official statement yet publicly.

Sources indicate that a significant portion of the shoot has already been completed, with the team currently filming complex action sequences. Reports have also suggested that Allu Arjun could be seen in multiple roles, possibly even quadruple avatars, something not attempted by him earlier in his career so far onscreen.

Deepika Padukone has been officially announced as one of the leads, with the makers previously releasing a promo confirming her presence. Rashmika Mandanna and Mrunal Thakur continue to be linked to the project, although no further casting announcements have been made so far by the production team publicly yet officially.

On the work front, Allu Arjun was last seen in Pushpa 2: The Rule, which emerged as one of the highest-grossing Indian films. Directed by Sukumar, the sequel continued the story of Pushpa Raj, with Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil returning in key roles once again onscreen together prominently again.

Mrunal will next be seen in Do Deewane Seher Mein opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi, slated for release on February 13, 2026. She also has Dacoit with Adivi Sesh, now rescheduled for April 10, following a decision by the makers to avoid a box office clash with other major releases this year.
