Reality shows have often served as platforms where celebrities speak their minds without filters, offering audiences a glimpse into their real thoughts and opinions. Over the years, such shows have become spaces where debates about fame, talent, and changing trends in entertainment naturally emerge. With the rapid rise of social media stars and digital creators, the industry has witnessed a major shift in how popularity is defined. This transformation has led to mixed reactions among traditional actors, many of whom believe that years of hard work are now being overshadowed by viral content and online influence. A recent episode of The 50 brought this ongoing debate into the spotlight once again.
During the episode, Prince Narula openly shared his frustration over the growing presence of influencers in mainstream entertainment. While speaking to Karan Patel, Ridhi Dogra, and his wife Yuvika Choudhary, he made a remark that immediately caught attention. Referring to social media creators, Prince said, ‘Jab se inko industry me laya gaya hai na, tab se industry kahtam ho gayi hai.’ His statement was aimed at members of Team 07, including Mr. Faisu, Adnaan Shaikh, and Faiz Baloch. According to Prince, the entry of influencers and YouTubers has lowered the value of artists who have built their careers through consistent work in television and films.
The conversation grew stronger when Karan Patel stepped in with his own observation. He commented, ‘Gadhe ghode ki race me dauda diye na inhone.’ Through this remark, Karan implied that people without proper training were being placed alongside experienced performers. Prince agreed and explained that actors are now often asked to collaborate with influencers and make short videos to gain visibility. He felt that such practices created artificial popularity and shifted attention away from genuine talent.
Continuing his criticism, Prince said, ‘12 second se upar ye acting nahi kar sakte. Camera ke aage le ke aao bol nahi pate,’ questioning their ability to perform beyond short clips. Ridhi Dogra also supported his views and pointed out what she believed was missing among many digital creators. She added, ‘Ek hi cheez hai jo nahi hoti hai inme, ethics.’ The discussion sparked varied reactions among viewers, with some agreeing with the actors while others stood up for influencers. The episode once again reflected the ongoing tension between traditional performers and internet celebrities in the evolving entertainment landscape.
