Govinda lashes out on Jagga Jasoos' makers, says I did my job as an ac

Jasoos has been hitting the headlines for
quite some time now- be it the infamous
breakup between Ranbir and Kat or the
constant delay in the release. Also, just a few
days ago, a picture of Govinda from JJ sets
was leaked. The picture also had Kat and
Ranbir in the background which made
everyone wonder if he is a part of the film
or not.
However, director Anurag Basu in a recent
interview clarified that while the actor did
shoot for a part but it's not in the movie
anymore. Later Govinda in an exclusive
interview told us, "I am thankful that Anurag
Basu at least opened his mouth after three
years and finally, he gave the clarification
about the role. I am happy that at least he
spoke about it after three years."
Now, Govinda took to Twitter to clarify his
stand and said that he had agreed to do the
guest appearance part out of respect for the
Kapoor family.
"I gave full respect to Kapoor family i did the
film because he is my seniors son I was told
I will get the script. I was told they will
narrate the film in South Africa and I didn't
even charge my signing amount made no
contracts," he wrote in a series of tweets.
He further wrote, "I was unwell and on drips
but still I traveled to South Africa and did my
shoot.There were various negative stories
and negative articles only for GOVINDA and
that's how the film was remembered for
3yrs. I did my job as an actor and if the
director is not happy it's completely his call."
Well, we now wonder what JJ makers would
have to say on this!
Some two years back, Govinda had told us,
"Well I am not doing JAGGA JASOOS because I
am doing ABHINAY CHAKRA, my home
production film, wherein I play a lead hero.
So I cannot do a father's role. If I was doing
those roles then it was fine, but if I am not
doing then why are you offering me that
kind of a film?"
Later, in another interview, the actor had
said, "I've finished my work but I won't be a
part of the promotions. I'm upset with the
makers for not clarifying things on my
behalf. I can understand them not wanting
to get dragged into a silly controversy but
not reacting was not a solution. Nobody is
allowed to make money by defaming me. I
may forgive but I'll never forget."
Jagga Jasoos is scheduled to release on July
14, 2017.
