On Wednesday night, sisters Kareena and Karisma hosted a grand bash for the 70th birthday of papa Randhir Kapoor, who remembered little else other than the food, the whiskey and the songs the morning after.

On Wednesday, sisters Kareena and Karisma hosted a lavish birthday bash for their father Randhir Kapoor who turned 70 at the family's heritage home, Devnar Cottage. Thirty tables were set in the garden, which was decorated with yellow lights and white lilies. The buffet was sumptuous and the bar boasted of the best whiskeys and wines.

"My daughters and my three wonderful grandchildren make me feel on top of the world. Taimur is too young to attend, but I am happy Karisma's kids " Samaira and Kiaan Raj could come even though it was a school day," Randhir told Mirror, adding he missed his sisters, Ritu Nanda and Reema Jain, who are away in the US. "I'm fortunate I have my father's lovely bungalow with a big garden where the entire family can meet to sing, laugh, drink. No one remembers anything the next day!"

Usually elusive, director JP Dutta and writer Salim Khan, stepped out for RK and were spotted chatting with his brothers, Rishi and Rajiv. The other Kapoor brothers " Boney and Sanjay " were there too. Anil couldn't make it, but wife Sunita made an appearance. Rakesh Roshan and Jeetendra came together while Pinky Roshan arrived earlier and was greeted with a warm hug from Babita. Gautam Singhania with wife Nawaz Modi, Adnan Sami looking slim and Poonam Dhillon, radiant in blue, were among the other guests present.

Karisma who has been in a relationship with businessman Sandeep Toshniwal since the last two years, introduced her beau to family friends with Babita by her side. He was a part of the family pictures, as were Kareena's besties, Malaika and Amrita Arora. The girl gang found their picture perfect spot in front of a large white swing in the corner of the garden. Karisma lay on it and hooted, "Papa, we love you!"

Ranbir Kapoor got a jadoo ki jhappi from brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan and they spent a lot of time chatting. While entering, Ranbir had been interrupted by Ameesha Patel who wanted to pose for pictures with him. She wanted a pic with Kareena too. In fact, Ameesha got her fan girl moment with all the filmi folk.

Ranbir stayed till late, drinking with cousin, Armaan Jain, and mum Neetu Kapoor. Before he moved to his new bachelor pad in Bandra, the 34-year-old actor had been staying at Devnar Cottage with grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor and his two dogs. Amitabh Bachchan arrived alone, 10-15 minutes after Rekha and stayed on for almost three hours.

Around midnight, when the party was in full swing, Babita with her daughters stepped outside to pose for the dozen shutterbugs who had been at work all evening. Bebo pouted some, then pointing to the mithai and grand buffet laid out for the celebration, told the photogs, "Stop clicking, it's time for some dinner. Jao, khana khao..." Now, that's what you call Khan-daani hospitality.
