The Girl He Saw was closed so couldn't comment there for it. Hence writing it here:

In ever world, in every story, Arnav and Kushi must meet.

Even in an innocent story of a school boy walking back the way he came, looking back to see her...

The "little pixie" stares at him too, until she is lost in the riding distance of the road...

And yet, in that story in their unrelated childhood on the casual morning, they met.

P.S. I loved the banner picture. The school boy walking flank to the left and the possibilities of the open road to the right...

Okay, so your Timshel is also closed and I had to add the comments here.

First of, Hats off to the choice of the title. Never in my life have I come across this divine appellation.

My brother is a big fan of the band, not I, but I think I faintly recall him hearing this. And to think that the song is so APT for the story you wrote, especially these lines...

And you are the mother

The mother of your baby child

The one to whom you gave life

And you have your choices

And these are what make man great

His ladder to the stars

But you are not alone in this

As brothers we will stand and we'll hold your hand

And that image you gave in the end, of Aakash, NK and Arnav surrounding little Kushi, reminded of the oldie Three Men and a Baby which inspired so many national and international movies.

And your diction, once again, amazes me. Though my mental imagination wasn't convinced how a "stone" like Arnav could bother to drink the water he was offered, I was bawled by your reference to how he "willed the chilled water" to appease him.

But most importantly I was, particularly, spellbound by ONE line in this story.

"Kushi's eyes never left his face."

LORD!!!! I was speechless. I was so utterly awed by that one line. Her eyes never left his face.

Can death be romanticized so beautifully as this? Instead of saying, she died. Her gaze never strayed from his face. Her life had flown from her being, and yet, the last thing she beheld... there remained her gaze... on the face of her beloved husband.

Thankyou for making NK and Anjali adapt their characteristics to the scene. How mature, how caring and how crucial they become to Arnav's situation...

And then, of course, who wouldn't love that last line of Arnav's. His cute, fatherly promise to make his daughter the perfect reincarnation of her mother...

I love you, Lady Em. For writing the way you do.

Your Paradise. *sniff* The words you use. Its like freaking MUSIC!!!! How do you do this?!!!!

I read the story aloud to feel the perfect choice of your words flow through the air!! And you had an exam imminent in five hours when you uploaded that!!! Like seriously!!! Now I know not to mock your thunderstorm of exams!! I'd long forgotten that song and now I feel like listening to it again...
